Henry's Confectionery — Restaurant in City of Glen Cove

I came across Henry's two years ago when I first moved to Glen Cove. It is an awesome spot with a classic diner flare that will send you back in time. Not to mention the food is more than one could ask. Generally, I order an omelette which comes with home fries and choice of toast, and have never been let down. Their Cuban sandwich and strawberry sauce for their waffles and pancakes are also big hits with my boyfriend and I. The service is super homey (adding to the old timey vibe). If you eat there more than once they are bound to remember your face and perhaps even your name - overall everyone is super friendly and seems to know a thing or two about the diner business. While the food is usually good the service has gotten terrible. We used to eat in but the wait time for the food was extremely long, and having to watch a new waitress eating at the counter talking with her mouth full, and serving food without washing her hands was a complete disgust. One of the cooks in particular is constantly on his phone and looking around. After that experience we tried to order takout instead as I said the food is good. Placed the order was told 20 minutes arrived to pick up and was told order hadn't been started but it would be right out.
