PLEASE READ IF BOOKING PRIVATE AFTER PARTY FOLLOWING YOUR WEDDING!!! Booked 2 events in June 2022 bc we stayed at the Radisson: Rehearsal Dinner & Private Wedding After Party. I grew up in NY which is why we had our wedding was in New Ro, but I (bride) live in the midwest along with the groom’s family.
Friday we had dinner before our Rehearsal Dinner on Saturday. Dinner was just immediate family. They had a live band playing, and we love music, but it was so beyond loud we couldn’t hear eachother talk. It was a rough dinner to get through honestly, and we're big concert goers. Band was great but instruments were hooked to microphones. They shouldn't have drums on microphone, it's not necessary and gave us a headache.
Saturday rehearsal dinner- Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Food was better than expected! But was very unclear what to expect at booking. They said they don't know what the menu is until closer to the date and unsure if it would be a buffet or not. This was very difficult when booking 9 months out. Even when putting down the final deposit and final headcount a month prior, they still didn’t know how food would be served. It was literally a surprise the night of and lucky actually had a menu to order from and was not a buffet. That’s such a difference in what you want for a rehearsal dinner and should be very direct during booking.
Sunday night was our wedding at one of the local venues, and we had the NoMa Social bar reserved for a Private After Party until 2AM. Wedding ended at 11:30PM and were anticipating guests to arrive around midnight. We had this booked 1 year in advance since we were a covid delayed wedding and the deposit to keep the bar open was $350. 2WEEKS BEFORE THE WEDDING I got a call from Rob (manager). He mentioned that to keep the bar open we need to pay $1,000 total bc NoMa closes at 9PM on Sundays and went on a rant about paying his staff to hang around doing nothing between close at 9PM and when we arrive at 12AM, and operational costs with staying open. I completely understand that, but I was panicking thinking that I already told my guests about the party and that I might not be able to afford it and will need to cancel. But I knew I made it clear in previous communications that we won't arrive until 12AM and later found our email chain discussing the $350 deposit for the bar starting then. I emailed him w/ our old email chain hoping we could work something out. He then explained that $1,000 is not a deposit to stay open, but a cash bar for our guests to use towards drinks, and have the option to choose between both the $350 to stay open without a minimum spend or the $1,000 cash bar. I was upset with his response bc he didn't make it clear on the phone when also in the past discussed that we didn't want to buy our guests drinks since we are paid for an open bar at our wedding. He tried to TRICK US hoping we would just send over money and not question him. When I said we’re sticking to the $350 deposit we already put down a year in advance, his response was the bar will likely wind down well before 2AM and staff won’t be compensated appropriately but hope the afterparty will make it worthwhile for the establishment. Why make such assumptions??? My response was we have 25+ rooms booked so we expect great turnout w/ plenty compensation. THE SADDEST PART ABOUT ALL OF THIS was when we showed up to the afterparty, there were hotel guests at the bar!!! THIS WAS NO LONGER A PRIVATE EVENT! NoMa closes 9PM and they used my deposit to stay open for hotel guests to make $$$. There was no way to know who was a hotel guest and who was part of our afterparty. COMPLETE SCAM! I'm sick because he told me on the phone that he has to pay his staff to hang around for a few hours until we showed up, but instead they let random hotel guests use the bar even during our time there. All this headache just for them to use this time as extended open hours instead of...

It wasn’t till we asked twice for the other 3 drinks that then 2 appeared, but we had to ask for the remaining 1 again. Drinks were weak, Sangria Pitcher was watered down. Remaining 3 tapas came, however, 2 from our group, continually what they ordered was forgotten we found ourselves repeatedly having to ask for food & when the food arrived they forgot to bring utensils. We also ordered several rounds of shots & dessert. Again delayed 2 desserts & one, the wrong item was given & no utensils. The waitress appeared annoyed when we asked for what we rightfully should have had & ordered. It was exhausting to continually have to ask when we were celebrating a birthday it put a damper on the night, made the experience uncomfortable to have to flag down the waitress or busboys. The lounge areas where we initially came to sit & were told they were reserved were ALL empty the over 5 hours while we were at our table. We asked again after we finished our food & desserts 6 hours later, because we wanted to continue to hang out & drink. When we asked again for her to check she came back stating they were reserved & some story about sometimes promoters reserve them. What was more upsetting, was that we sat at our table for over 6 hours, eating, drinking, having shots & watched the surrounding guest because many had costumes, there was a group of 4 guys that sat by the bar next to us only having beer. No food was consumed 3 hours from the time we were there and then we realize that they ended up taking and sitting at one of the lounge areas. We of course we’re not happy to see that, it’s when we decided to leave and asked for our bill. We spent over $900 a good part of that was on alcohol, why we repeatedly asked to relocate to a lounge area after we ate and were told we could not,we felt was horrible customer service. The food is good HOWEVER so is in 100s of other places where the service is 110% better. We didn’t hear an apology, or at the least a courtesy Tapas or round of shots for ALL the inconveniences SAD. There are far too many places to eat & have an enjoyable night. Don’t waste...
Read moreWent out with some friends for a birthday dinner, I was very excited with the atmosphere. People was learning how to dance disco salsa which I find was very nice.
But when it came down to the food, the tapas which I believe was the appetizer. We order a few appetizers for the table. My cousin and I decided to try something called “spicy tuna” on a flatbread which sound it delicious. When the food arrived, we tried the flat bread, and we weren’t happy with the taste, because we didn’t read the menu that it had wasabi inside the food. The guests around our table also tried a piece and didn’t like it as well. We all agreed that the wasabi was to over powering in the food.
The waitress was informed, and we explained why we didn’t like the flatbread but would still pay for it due to her having to remove a drink from the bill that one of her guest didn’t like. The waitress, then return with her boss to our table with a very disturbing body language. Asking us what the issue was with the food being that we already had an issue with a drink that was ordered with his hands in his pocket too holding his one fist in the other hand which felt like he wanted to kick us out the restaurant. We explain everything again to him, maybe the waitress probably wasn’t clear about what we said.
After he walked away we were all so in disbelief the way he had approach our table. We then asked the waitress again to speak to him about his service. When he approach the table again, one of my friend stepped aside to speak with him in regards of the customer service he provided to us which we didn’t appreciate by the way we were approached and spoken to. Robb the manager was all aggressive and answers, that’s how he talks and that’s how his body language is and he doesn’t care what we think about his mannerism. And he even state that he doesn’t care if we write a bad review about it as well.
We all decided to leave early due to the situation. Because our services felt like it wasn’t needed any longer. The manager which his name was Robb, made himself more visible and staring at us the whole time and followed us until we left the premises.
In conclusion I would like to say, Robb needs better...
