My experience at Pappous and Yaiyai's Kouzina in New Rochelle was nothing short of exceptional!
First off, parking was plentiful which is always a plus when dining out in busy areas. As soon as we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The decor had a genuine Greek vibe that set the perfect mood for the meal ahead.
The staff deserves a special mention; they were friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt welcomed from the moment we stepped through the door. The cleanliness of the restaurant was impressive, with clean tables and a fresh restroom, showing attention to detail that enhances the overall dining experience.
We opted for the seafood entree, which was incredibly tasty and well-suited for sharing between two. The highlight was undoubtedly the octopus - it was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, demonstrating the kitchen's skill with seafood. Everything tasted like it had just been grilled, enhancing the authenticity of the meal.
I also took advantage of the lamb salad lunch special, which was a delightful surprise. The salad was fresh, with succulent lamb that complemented the greens beautifully.
The menu was diverse and appealing, offering something for every palate while staying true to Greek culinary roots. Every dish seemed to promise a burst of Mediterranean flavors, making it hard to choose just one!
I am already looking forward to my next visit to Pappous and Yaiyai's Kouzina. It's not just a restaurant; it's a delightful culinary journey back to the roots of Greek cuisine. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic and satisfying dining experience in...

Read moreAfter five or so visits so far, I have come to really love this chef-owned and operated new restaurant in New Rochelle. The grilled Octopus appetizer is a very large portion for the price (nearly twice the size of the Greek place down the road but for $2 less!) while being perfectly cooked and seasoned with olive oil, lemon, and fresh herbs. Delicious! I’ve twice tried the daily fish special entree - a full sized grilled Bronzino - and both times is was very fresh, flavorful, and flakey just as it should be. The “Poseidon Thalassina” seafood combination platter is another favorite dish. All the dips we have tried so far have been excellent. Love their pita bread too - flame cooked and served hot right off the grill. Nice atmosphere with several hand painted murals of Greece and similarly themed music playing overhead. They also now serve alcohol and have a decently varied wine selection, several novelty beers, and both red and white homemade Sangria. Just a short walk from the MetroNorth train station on the same street as Posto 22 and Wooden Spoon. On par with Dubrovnik’s for quality, yet more casual and quaint. Service is very attentive as it’s rarely crowded with only recently opening and still relatively undiscovered....
