Absolutely LOVE Erin O’Neill’s Pub & Grill! This place is hands down one of the best spots in Poughkeepsie. From the second you walk in, you’re treated like family—whether it’s your first visit or you’re a regular. Erin and Dave, the amazing owners, have created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and their staff? Absolutely top-tier. The bartenders are friendly, fast, and always make a perfect drink, and the waitstaff are attentive and efficient.

And then there’s Chef Julianna—an absolute rockstar in the kitchen! She comes up with the most incredible specials, and every single one is a winner. You can tell she puts so much creativity and care into each dish. And the regular menu? Unreal. Everything is delicious, but let me tell you—the steak is out of this world. Cooked to perfection every single time, packed with flavor, and just melts in your mouth. Pair it with one of their expertly made drinks, and you’re in heaven.

I’ve seen some gripe that they don’t do takeout but to me, that’s a plus. It makes total sense for the kind of place this is—it keeps things running smoothly for the kitchen, staff, and customers, and honestly, it adds to the charm. Erin O’Neill’s is a true pub experience, meant to be enjoyed in-house with good company, good food, and good drinks, just the way it should be.

Cindy was a breath of fresh air from the pass through the threshold of the entrance.. I enjoyed the environment for more reasons than one. I love great food and good service. I can say for certain that there is a lively bunch frequenting the establishment but they are juggling the drunks and pervs with finesse…lol

The origin of my name is Scottish-Irish so I have this affinity to Green, Irish anything and beer. My birthday is in May and my birth stone is Emerald Green. I also enjoy trying out new food with my colleagues. I had the Corn-beef Cabbage & Potato soup and Banger Rolls. We had no idea this place even existed until we saw a sign by marist. This is our new favorite bar and restaurant!! The staff and owner were so friendly and attentive. They had a great mix of music playing, really cool decor all Irish or music based. And my SO said it was the best draft Guinness he has had in years. Had a good variety of beer and ciders etc.

Now on to the food...OMG! Everything was fresh or house made. Took us forever to decide because every item on the menu sounded delicious. We got an appetizer each to share, an entree/sandwich each and an extra sandwich to try and share, and a dessert each too. Needless to say we brought home some leftovers but not that much as every bite was perfect! They don't do take out or door dash stuff just in house dining, and I'm glad they don't. Just focus on giving great food and service to the people there. We will be back and suggesting to our friends to try it! Thank you for a great date...
