O'Callaghan's Pub — Restaurant in City of Rochester

Welp, this might piss some people off but whatever.

I’ve been a regular here for about 7 or 8 years so I hate to say this, but this bar has really gone downhill in recent years, it’s such a disappointment. I won’t go into much detail so as to protect the few people at this establishment that I do like and appreciate. The only reason I’ve still been popping in here is because I have friends who frequent here. But everything from the mediocre bar service, to the overpriced and overcooked food, to the $16 green tea shots, is enough to make me never come here again. Not to mention, their Guinness is $2.50 more than most places in the city, hence why I usually only went in here on Wednesdays.

I’ll get my $5 Guinness and $7 green tea shots literally anywhere else.

Also, change your fryer oil. Good lord. I hope this review helps you guys get back on track.

RE to owner: I really REALLY wish I could reach out to Scotty. God rest his soul. I hope he opened a McKay’s Bar up in heaven and saved me a seat. Where the drinks are reasonably priced, the food isn’t overcooked, and the owners aren’t racist towards black people, like this place is. This bar, its staff and its patrons support abuse and abusers. This bar, its staff and patrons are the reason I went through another year of abuse in my relationship, my relationship was destroyed and my engagement is now a sad trauma memory. If you’re in a relationship and your partner goes to this bar or works at this bar leave them immediately. If you don’t support abuse or abusers and support healthy relationships, don’t support this bar. Only go to this bar if you support abuse and enjoy participating in ruining people’s lives, causing people pain and trauma and making people suffer. Nothing good or positive happens at this bar. Bartenders are commonly drunk on the clock. Violent people frequent this bar and there are often fights here. Additionally, their recent food safety score is a C. They have served raw meats to their customers and staff and have had maggots in their smoker all within the last year. It should be...

I have just got done reading a review on this restaurant and pub. My first encounter with this establishment was on my birthday 3 years ago when my boyfriend surprised me by bringing me here. It was absolutely one of the busiest nights they must have had due to it being in the direct middle of summer. Not only did they honor my birthday wings but ALSO brought my boyfriend his own wings...( and I'm not talking a bout him and I splitting the wings that I had)! The only thing we had to pay for was our drinks. ALSO they even took the time to make even more special by singing Happy Birthday to me! So I'm not sure what happened during the other person's visit but for the last 3 years both myself and my boyfriend have been able to enjoy our birthday there. Thanks again...
