I’ve been to this place several times hoping it’ll gets better. Every time I go the service just seems to get worse and the food more mediocre. It’s just overall average, but overpriced. Why is a bowl of pasta $26? Why is 3 house wines over $50? No one knows… It’s just a lot going on without the actual hype. A glorified diner if you will. You get the point. But tonight was a special night. No ordinary night. We walk in and we are ignored by the hostess, and waiting for a waiter to come seat us. Typical night there though. We get seated in the back and a waitress (sadly not sure of the name, but had eyebrow piercings) came and took our order. Now she came to the table for around 5x’s - not bad, not amazing. But it’s the theme. We got wine, apps, 3 meals and coffee. For 3 women it was $186. Ridiculous for basic food and service. Anyways we pay and leave and the waitress in the middle of the restaurant says to me “excuse me can I talk to you?” I said “sure,” she then proceeded to tell me about how I under tipped her and I should by 20% not, 15%!” I was honestly shocked and confused as to why she would be so aggressive about a tip on a Thursday night at 6pm. If the service was worth 20% or more I would have loved to have paid it. But 15% was plenty. The confronting and debating with me on the tip in front of other people and after a basic meal was just the last straw that put me over the top. I won’t be coming back or trying anymore. I can’t even say you pay what you get for, but I’m not even getting that. Hope this places ups their food or lowers...

Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience as a 1st time patron of this establishment. My wife and I decided to go out for a Resurrection Sunday dinner and we chose this establishment as a backup as our 1st choice was closed. Please keep in mind that this establishment was recommended. I chose the American Leg of Lamb from the Easter Sunday menu....can you believe that they served me 2 pieces of COLD Leg of Lamb and one piece was badly under cooked. I brought this to the attention of our waitress, who apologized and took the entree back to be corrected and that was to No Avail. She brings back the plate with my Leg of Lamb not COLD but still has an undesirable chill on it and one piece undercooked and fatty. Now I am totally turned off by the food and the service. And would you believe that they actually served my wife a COLD basket of bread (we had to ask them twice to bring the bread) to boot. This was an AWFUL dining experience. And sadly I must say that I got the impression that they will NOT miss me not patronizing their...

It's places like these that keep me from moving out of the city. Suburban dining personified. At least it's not a chain.

There is nothing wrong with this place - it's just that there's nothing distinctive or unique about it outside of the building itself. The beers on tap are not for anyone that really enjoys beer. There are no local brews and nothing off the beaten path. I don't drink mass marketed beer.

The menu, in my opinion, was unimaginative. They play it safe and give you the standard fare that you'd expect in a suburban establishment. For what the food is, I think it's way overpriced. The burgers were good but I couldn't bring myself to order the $22 steak sandwich. The pizza they served my kid was way undercooked. We paid over $60 before tip for two burgers, a kids pizza, soft drinks and dessert.

This is a safe place to go if you want to have brunch with your in-laws or lunch with some clients. You certainly won't walk away upset however if you want a culinary adventure of any sort, this is not your place.

Overall...

I came here when metro north was having issues. I came for drinks and to eat. I get to the bar the bartender I guess asked me what I wanted to drink. I didn't get a drink menu or was offered a food menu. I drank my drink and paid my tab and left. Review revision will come when I give the bar another chance. (2 star) Edit: I gave this place a second chance but decided to sit at a table. The food was good . I asked the serce if she had and any sparkling wine. She pointed to the wines and said this is what we have. I didn't see any so I ordered a rose. After I get my rose, I see the prosecco on another part of the menu which is sparking wine. I just ordered a side of veggies and meatball. My date and I shared the cookie brownie. Everything was good. During our meal the server came to check on us a few times but when we were trying to pay, she was no where to be found. The night wasn't ruined by this just a bit frustrating. I do recommend this place to come to eat. Great atmosphere. I will return.

I stopped by The Rye Grill & Bar and was impressed by the variety and quality of the food. The atmosphere was warm and inviting--perfect for a casual dinner with a touch of upscale charm. What I ordered: Cajun Chicken Quesadilla - Packed with flavor and just the right amount of heat. The refried black beans, chive sour cream, and corn salsa added great texture and balance. Chicken Cutlet BLT - Served on a Portuguese roll with Muenster cheese and Cholula mayo, this sandwich was crispy, creamy, and satisfying. The fries were golden and addictive. Grilled Angus Burger - Juicy and well-seasoned, with crispy onion rings and more fries. Classic comfort food done right. Service: Friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Everything came out hot and fresh. Overall: Solid experience with standout flavors and generous portions. Would definitely return to try more from the menu.

We were in Rye for business and needed some lunch. We found the RG&B on a few travel sites, all sharing great reviews and the food looked just as delicious. And it was! We had pizza (great crust and lots of cheese), salads, and a chicken meal. And our little guy (4YO) enjoyed his noodles and fries. The building itself was very sharp, with the indoor seating area set up rather beautiful. We sat in the outdoor seating, which turned out to be perfect on this warmer fall day. The staff was great as well. Our waiter was on top of his game, providing recommendations and keeping up with our needs. The table sitting next to us was giving (unwarranted) hell to their waitress and being...well treating the waitress and other staff poorly. But the folks at RG&B handled the table professionally and also courteously. If we lived nearby we would certainly he heading the RG&B!
