From a 7th grader (part 1 of 2):
Sunrise’s margarita pizza will stand the test of time for all pizza lovers. This pizza reminds all of us who have enjoyed sunrises pizza over the years the memories we had while having it and for people who have not had it, it is waiting for you to create good time with it. When you take your first bite a recollection of good times come back and flood into your brain. For us who feel this sensation Sunrises margarita pizza is more than just food. It is the symbol of good times for us who have enjoyed this legendary mix of dough cheese and tomato sauce.
This small and amazing restaurant has been around since the 1980’s and has served the people of Rye with its delicious food. Sunrise gives thanks for its success to its great service and its founder and head chef, Alex. Alex is from Italy and holds a close relationship with all his customers and treats them like family. This creates an enjoyable, warm welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant which is quite pleasant. Whenever I go there Alex will welcome me with a warm slice and will always check in on me. By doing this he creates a tight bond with customers and by extending his hand of friendship it makes an enjoyable welcoming feeling whenever you walk in.
Sunrise’s margarita pizza is something special. It comes fresh out of the oven warm and loving welcoming you to remnis all the good times the two of you enjoyed together. The pizza made with fresh mozzarella from the local farmers market and tomatoes fresh from upstate New York combined with the flour in the state. It also comes at a nice price at $4.50 and it is the best $4.50 you will ever spend. All of these ingredients combine to create something truly more than just a food it combines to create good times that you will recollect later on. What other pizza can do that? the simple answer is that there is no other pizza that can do this. I urge you to go and eat at sunrise pizza and enjoy the euphoria and recollections of happy times you will experience with this amazing pizza. Alex really does make the restaurant stand out, creating his pizza from his mother's recipe. This put sunrise on the map delivering a delicious pizza to the people of Rye.But the atmosphere of the restaurant is truly something special you feel like it's home, cozy, friendly, loving and welcoming which is quite pleasant. A combination between the building, Alex and the pizza is responsible for this. First off the old building with aged red paint and old green chairs with marble tables creates a feeling of being in the past which makes you feel of all the time...
Read moreWhile the atmosphere in this small restaurant stands alive it doesn’t seem comfortable for others. When I came into to order 3 slices of pizza I was demanded to pay right away. While this sounds not much of a problem at all, others weren’t treated that way as I was and others. I had payed on the spot and while I saw other customers come in and order their food the cashier didn’t budge to even make them pay on spot, instead he had told them they can pay later even when the other customers has voluntarily pay. I had observed to whom the cashier was telling to demand payment on spot and it had showed a pattern of just Hispanic people but not to whites? Showing that there is a motive behind his actions being judgemental it also shows discrimination. Forcing a certain group of people to pay on the spot while lending others the lower hand to pay when finished their meal can make others feel unfit in the restaurant. This hasn’t been the first time and considerably believe that it...
Read moreBEWARE Pizza was good. Salad was a joke. It contained lettuce, that’s about it (btw this was after being told how “wonderful” the house salad was). They had the audacity to tell me there was a fee for dining in. Instead of the large pie costing $18 it was $22. I go to a new pizza place every week with my kids. First place that’s ever done this. I actually wouldn’t even care all that much had there been some kind of indication on their large menu signs of an additional “dine-in fee”. I wouldn’t have even cared if it was $1. I do care however when they decide to just steal $4 I worked hard for simply bc they feel like it. Keep in mind people I’m not talking about tax. I’m not talking about a credit card surcharge (o don’t worry they have that too). I’m talking about clear and blatant grift. Would...
