I have had two opposite experiences here, so I am giving it the middle rating of three stars. Our first experience here was a 5-star experience. We came back in August or September when we moved to the area. We had a supreme pizza, two different kinds of wings (mild and garlic parmesan), and my husband had some key lime pie. It was all delicious - literally the best chicken wings I've ever had and the pizza was up there in my top 3 probably. Service was excellent and they had really good live music. Again, 5 stars. So, I expected something similar when we came here yesterday for New Year's Eve. We decided last minute we wanted to come here as it was one of the only bars this side of town, and it said on their website that for $50 a person there would be a food buffet, DJ/dancing, open bar, and a champagne toast. I am underage (20) and my husband is 25 but doesn't drink, so we were mostly coming for the food and dancing. It said it was from 9pm until 1am, so I called to see if they still had any reservations for the party (this was 3:30pm on NYE) and a lady said they did. She put my husband and I in, and we showed up close to 9pm. They couldn't find our reservation, but the lady who checked us in said she remembered taking our name down so she let us in anyway. They asked for our IDs and I let them know up front I was underage and my husband let them know he wouldn't be drinking. They seemed annoyed about it and confused but after a hassle they actually charged us half price (even though we never expected that or asked for it, which was nice) and told us to go sit in the party room. Their "buffet" was only a few different kinds of pizza, a salad, and some pulled pork sliders. The food was delicious, as is all the food here. We inquired if they'd be serving chicken wings and they said no but the bartender offered to order some for us. Then the manager told her they couldn't do it because they "didn't have enough servers" to wait on everybody (despite there not being a lot of tables and having multiple bartenders walking around serving drinks and clearing plates) and not enough chefs to run the fryers (even though there were 3 and I only ever saw 1 or 2 at a time doing anything). She apologized and I know it's not her fault, but that was kind of bothersome. We couldn't really dance because the tiny area they organized for a dance floor was full of drunk people dancing awkwardly and the music was kind of fast 90's music. I like 90's music, but it wasn't really danceable. The entire time we were there, other than our waitress, we felt really awkward and the staff kind of made us feel like we were annoying them or something by being there and not drinking. I feel like we got our $25 worth between all the food we ate and the non-alcoholic drinks we got from the bar, but the experience itself was not very fun and we only stayed about less than 2 hours. We went home before 11pm. I'd rate this experience 1 or 2 stars. So overall, I'd rate this...
Read moreUnacceptable, incompetent, slow experience from start to finish. Sat down (there were 5 tables total with 3 servers on) and it took 7 minutes to be greeted by our server (Adam). Took our order, etc. we received our food from a runner and had no silverware or napkins (I had to ask 2X). We had to ask for the bill after sitting with dirty plates in front of us for quite some time. Gave Adam our bill and waited again to get it back. We were handed the wrong book (bill+card) back and immediately took it inside. He was with another table so we went to the bartender (also the manager) who stated bluntly that we had to wait for him, we did and went back to our table. Adam then came back and sat down at our table with us. He explained he had made an error and gave our card to another table and they had left with it. He then asked that WE SIGN FOR ANOTHER PERSONS CARD since they signed for ours, (UHM NO that's fraud, I don't care if you can't close out your checks at the end of the night its not my responsibility). Again we went to the manager and stated calmly that instead of free drinks next time (never going again) that we wished our bill be zero'd out today. We were assured that it would be and that they would be able to get a hold of the gentleman who had our card and they would call us. 9:45PM rolls around and the charge is posted to our bank account. We call they answer the phone by name saying they were just about to call and they had our card. The manager on the phone then says could you check to see if you have the other gentlemans card? (Obviously we don't)....We show up to pick it up at 10PM and the manager is the only one there but customers are still leaving. Walk in and she looks at us dumbfound, Hi yes you said you had my CC and she says oh this one?... ITS THE OTHER GUYS CARD WE LEFT THERE.
Best part of the experience... the gentleman who got our card called the bank and they...
Read moreWent to BWP yesterday for the first time. Wanted to share my experience for other perspective customers and in hopes for BWP to make improvements. I arrived at around 7:30PM and sat at the bar. 1 other customer at the bar and a family seated at a table. Waited 10 minutes for service, was about to leave and the manager came over and got me a drink and apologized. They had 4 servers on- all of which were gossiping in the corner. I also ordered the buffalo chicken wontons. They were just okay.. they were very burnt. While I was eating the manager was going off on an employee, so much so he made her cry. I’m sure there was something she could work on however, maybe the conversation could have taken place elsewhere, not behind the bar. The bartender then got me another beer however, she got the wrong beer. I told her that wasn’t the beer I had ordered.. she apologized and didn’t take the beer back. She then went to the other costumer (another employee off duty) at the bar and continued to gossip about their August schedules, other employees and the manager. Other things I noticed were striking similarities to other bars around the area- specifically the mug club and menu. It’s very clear that not much is original here. It seems as though they copy other bars ideas and charge more. I understand a bar is a bar and there not much more you can change but maybe come up with some original ideas. Lastly, I went to go place an order for dinner and the bartender brought over my check and said have a good night. Didn’t bother to ask if I wanted anything else. It was clear she just wanted to talk to the other person at the bar. I didn’t bother to ask for more food- paid the bill, left a fair tip and went somewhere else for dinner. 2 stars I feel is generous but it was my first time there. Hopefully BWP can change...
