Trexx — Restaurant in City of Syracuse

This nightclub is a good enjoyable place. The bartenders are nice and welcoming. The environment is fun and a very spacious club. I was at the club Saturday, 07/31/21....and was enjoying the night out. At a certain point around midnight or thereafter I was told to leave the club, and am not clear as to exactly why?? I walked out the front entrance and was awaiting for a cab or Uber Ride to leave the area. I thought I left my wallet in the club, so I asked the doorman to reenter and look for my wallet. The men/workers at the entrance denied entry, and I was stepping back away to sidewalk. As I was doing so, these 2 men maneuvered me to the ground and pinned me aggressively on by back down to the sidewalk. I was shocked and was resisting and trying to break free. As I did, several other male persons partook in forcing me to stay on the ground. I wanted to get out of this situation and leave the area, but was not able to. I struggled to get out....but then was not re leased until the Syracuse Police showed up. I feel this was unnecessary physical force used on me by these male individuals from the club and possible physical assault. My neck has abrasions and swollen and in pain as if I might have been choked/pressure used on neck; elbows are bruised and with abrasions; knees, bruised and with abrasions; entire head with abrasions; abrasion on my forehead; back with abrasions; shoulders with abrasions. Abrasions and open soars from police handcuffs being placed on my wrists too tightly. Please, if anyone has any information share it...

I am a 5’6 young woman weighing 140 pounds. One of the security guards at this place choked me and put me in a headlock. Once I left the club, he cracked open the door and pepper sprayed me, directly into my eye at close range. A tall, overweight Black guy who seemed to enjoy physically assaulting a young woman. I will be filing a lawsuit. Don’t go here. Oh, I also got my behind smacked by a random man.

--updated 8/19/22 - i'm happy to say that today in city court Trexx was found to be guilty of assaulting/pepper-spraying me and is required to pay damages for the assault. of course, the owners lied in court, under oath, and still denied the assault and accused me of lying about being pepper-sprayed. yes, because apparently i don't have anything better to do but spin random lies about fake assaults in decrepit nightclubs. thankfully the judge saw through their lies, and i won my case. shameful that the lying owners continue to deny this assault despite copious evidence. this "club" has totally morally bankrupt owners, cosplaying as human beings, who should be ashamed to look themselves in the mirror...

I mostly come here because my friends bartend, otherwise I wouldn’t really bother. The place just isn’t what it used to be 10–15 years ago. Right when you walk in, the amount of security makes the whole vibe feel unwelcoming—it’s more tense than fun.

Inside, the atmosphere doesn’t hit either. The music is nothing special, and the lighting is way too much for such a small space. A nightclub shouldn’t feel like you’re standing in a well-lit room—it kills the mood when you’re trying to drink and dance.

They also lean heavily into drag, which is fine, but with how few hours they’re open, it would make more sense to do those shows on off-nights instead of prime hours.

I still stop in every now and then to support my friends and spend a little money, but it’s not the same place it used to be. And being cash-only on top of everything else just adds to the...
