Adding to my review and going even lower with my new rating as a result of the aggression in the ownerâs initial reply. After some reading, itâs apparent to me that this facility is run by a defensive little gremlin, who, rather than taking critical feedback and improving on the issues- will prefer to thumb battle with dissatisfied customers. Luckily for him, this is my area of expertise. Not mentioned earlier but still true, the seating in the dining area is far too cramped and awkward. It is a shoebox style floor plan which appears to be seated from left to right until full. It was apparent to us that they did not have a grip on providing comfortable space between customers until the tables were all sat. As if they could truly fill a dining room with those prices! The customers around us were all over the ages of 55, which tells me a lot about the establishment. It doesnât pull a youthful crowd because we are all busy spending our dollars on fresh and wallet friendly options elsewhere. I was being generous before, however now I will expand on the reasons I felt the food wasnât up to par. Not only was the Milanese being drowned in butter, it fell short of being a Milanese due to its thickness and being a grade school cafeteria chicken patty. It was over-fried, dry, and nearly tasteless. The pasta was also swimming, however just in some Ragu off the shelf. Additionally, the fried artichoke hearts were served smothered in a garlic sauce that was so lemony I cringed upon tasting it. Unfortunately for this owner, Iâm in Buffalo to stay, but Iâll make sure to take my business and my influence to other, affordable, humble restaurants.

Moved to Buffalo within the last 6 months and have been looking for any kind of decent food around here. Giving this place a lower rating because although I think the experience had some redeeming qualities- adequately cooked pasta, friendly service, decent drink menu- the prices just donât match the quality of food. I think theyâre mostly charging for the quantity on your plate. Husband ordered the salmon on recommendation but it was ultimately swimming in butter and slightly overcooked. His mixed vegetables didnât seem like more than from a frozen store bought bag. My chicken milanese was also swimming in the butter sauce and by the end of the meal, my stomach was sitting very uncomfortably. Tiramisu was ok. Loved the bread at the table and our wine selections were delicious⌠but for $116 to feed 3 people, we probably couldâve hit a...
Read moreI'm a North Buffalo native and was thrilled when Joe Dallos Jr. decided to open up shop on Hertel Ave. I had dined at his previous restaurant Fortunato's, on numerous occasions and was always more than pleased. I must say that Joe did a great job rehabbing the place and turning it into the cozy gem that it is! So far I've dined here twice. My first time thoroughly enjoying the turkey dinner and wonderful broccoli-cheddar soup. Everything is made on premises, true comfort food that tastes and resembles as if Mom were in the kitchen! My second visit was last night. Angela was behind the bar and she made my time as a lone diner warm and pleasant. She's a great girl who is warm and cordial. Great service and thank you Angela. I ate my huge Ruben sandwich at the bar and it was great. Loaded with freshly sliced corned beef round along with lots of Swiss Cheese, really good sauerkraut and tangy Russian Dressing all pan toasted on huge slices of very fresh rye bread. It was great, in fact the best Ruben I've had in North Buffalo. I did not leave hungry and was quite happy. I also ordered a meatloaf dinner to go, for later. When I finally got to that dinner I was most pleased. Just like homemade. Large slabs of well seasoned meatloaf with a monstrous portion of real mashed potatoes, all slathered in tasty brown gravy. Again, it was just like homemade. Seasoned just right with diced onion, a perfect dose of Worcestershire sauce and all the right seasonings. Very good!! I will be trying all the offerings on the menu over time and look forward to doing so. There's a regular menu along with a daily supplemental menu offering specials, soups and desserts. I want to thank Joey D and his gracious staff! I highly suggest giving them a chance if you're in the Hertel area. Even if you're not nearby and you're seeking a real homemade dinner, true comfort food, make the trip and I think you'll agree! It's a cozy place, absolutely immaculate and staffed by some...
Read moreTonawanda location: went on Saturday 10/30/2021. Had reservations for 7 pm arrived at 7:05 pm and was seated about 7:30 pm...not too bad but then it went down hill from there. There was definitely not enough staff on and it showed. The staff that was working were killing it but they just could not keep up. I saw no management staff or did they bother coming to the table after the issues we had. We had drinks when we sat down from the bar but waited at least a half hour before our waitress came to offer us another drink. My husband had to send back his Manhattan back twice then he just said forget it.(they did take off his one other drink off of the bill)....they forgot to bring my friends soup after they reminded them after our dinner came out and gave them a take out container instead but still charged, they ran out of burgers after I placed my order a half hour before and then they ran out of honey butter for the sweet potatoe frieds and could not find the ingredients to make the honey butter (at least that is what we were told). Long story short....we did not eat until 9:30 pm. Thank goodness the hostess noticed at 8:45 that we received no food including appetizers and offered us at least a roll each. Loved the entertainment but again not enough staff for the crowd. We received better service around 9:30 pm when it started to clear out. Food was great and very tastey and the staff working was doing their best being so short staffed. That is why I am giving this review a 3. Disappointed that no manager of the restaurant came up to and apologized or at least reconized that there were issues that evening....it is unfair that they leave the apologizing to the waitress and the hostess. The live entertainment on Saturday night is great but I recomment just to go to the bar and have a drink to watch on Saturdays.....save dining at the restaurant for during the week or early on the weekends for a better...
