Catania's Pizzeria — Restaurant in City of Yonkers

I was introduced by a god friend about 10 years ago who grew up around the corner from Catania’s. He told me he’d been going there since he was a kid (and he’s 68). On my first visit I had one of their small stuffed calzones ... Fantastic! I was sold! I haven’t stopped visiting since. Next visit I tried the pizza ... Outstanding! (Both the Sicilian and regular pie are Fantastic! I think Chris is the owner? He’s almost always there (rotates shifts with another family member however). He’s friendly, a perfect gentleman ... treats every customer courteously and respectfully! This restaurant is a unpretentious, tiny spot ... but believe me ... coming from a person whose favorite fast food is pizza ... and I’ve visited 100’s ... probably more :-) ... this place is a keeper! ... in modern language ‘a hot spot’! A must try! They also do take out catering for Super Bowl parties or any other party 🎉 I had them make a few boxes of calzones I mentioned earlier to contribute towards last years Super Bowl. There was a lot of food at that party ... but, hands down’, the calzones were the biggest hit! Try Catania’s! ... One of the best pizzas in Westchester County. You won’t be disappointed ... in fact, you’ll go out of your way to try it again ... just like me!...

I have been getting delivery from you guys for over a year now. Every time it's the same thing: large pie, pepperoni, extra light sauce and a baked ziti WITH meat. It has never been an issue and I even ordered a giant tray of baked ziti WITH meat a couple of months ago for a get together that I paid about $100 for. Again, never a problem. So today I order the usual for a delivery and realize after your delivery man left that the baked ziti had no meat so I called basically just to make sure I was charged correctly and was told you never make baked ziti w/meat. Then your guy says the other guy who took the call didn't hear me ask for meat. So I asked which one was it; did he just not hear me ask for it or do they never make it. Instead of admitting they made a mistake they basically treated me like I was nuts! Lost a very good...

My cousin used to live near here so we would always order a pie or two from here. Now, well after my family moved, I find myself dragging a friend with me once in a while and going out of our way to eat here. All their variations of pizzas are amazing, but to tell how good a pizzeria is, you have to judge their plain slice, and I say you cannot go wrong with their plain slice. The calzones may look too small, but they are great to snack on. I've seen they will cater a batch of them for parties (dunno if they still offer this though).
