Central Plaza Diner — Restaurant in City of Yonkers

After living nearby for years and never trying this place, we can’t get enough of it. We finally discovered it a few weeks ago, and it has already become one of our go-to places, both for eating out and ordering in.

We have liked everything we have tried, breakfast, traditional diner fare, sandwiches, and quality dinners. Prices are reasonable. Quality is great. Portions are big. And the service is absolutely top-notch, and super friendly.

The only “negatives” are that parking can be a little tight, as can seating inside. This should not dissuade you. I only mention it so that you are prepared. Our first time, we had to park a bit away and walk, but we have been able to park in the lot on subsequent trips. Inside, there don’t seem to be any tables, only booths. It is perfect for my wife and I. But you might want to think about the seating arrangement if you have a larger party.

They have great specials, for a nice variety. And whenever we have ordered delivery, we have gotten our food quickly.

After giving this place multiple chances, I can honestly say this is by far one of the worst Diners in yonkers. I've found hair in my food before, there's even a photo on here of someone else's food with a hair in it (I wonder if they ever even noticed that) . The service is slow and the lack of communication between the staff is crazy. I once got watered down A1 sauce from them and they had the audacity to tell me that's how it comes. I offered to buy them a new bottle and show them what real A1 looks like. One of my biggest issues is, no matter how many times you can repeat your order to them, they will always forget something and never want to provide a receipt, then try to charge you extra. It's such a turn off when your hungry and receive such horrible service. After waiting almost 2 hours for our order to arrive, I find out my order is wrong. When I called to tell them I was transferred to Mike which I was made believe is the owner and he is very rude and lit me up when he had the audacity to blame my staff member for ordering it incorrectly when I and another staff member heard her tell him the order. So to him we are liars mind you our phone calls are recorded and I verified it before calling. I asked for a refund due to the disrespect I felt and he told me that he isnt going to refund anything. After I told him the call is recorded if he is sure he wants to take it that route he explained returned the food to get a refund. I told him come pick it up.
