Just spoke with mom and she was so aggravated with the service the cook provided her, not the first time either. (FYI, I used to do laundry with her next door and it was routine to grab food from here always). (Moms words exactly) "When I told him I wanted the chicken fajita, he saidâ hubiera empezado con esoâ (in English meaning you should've started with that first) when I questioned him what his comment meant he said with an attitude âeso toma mas tiempo â (that takes more time) Every time I go there, heâs rude and not polite. I greet him and he's ignored me ever since the ketchup incident... ( there was another hiccup that occurred with him putting ketchup on an egg sandwich which wasn't even asked for and when told again rude as hell. Not for nothing but who are you to tell my mother which takes more time etc with an attitude, this is what you signed up for buddy to cook.
Again just being honest, I doubt they'll...
Read moreThank You, La Hacienda .. We had family from out of town and were in need of dinner for 12 people. I called and asked if it would be possible to get a few trays of food, full trays at that. Whereas most place would tell you that they needed at least 24 hours, that was not a problem here. The kind who answered our said it would not be a problem. We were to get a tray of the most moist pernil, a tray of roasted chicken, a tray of both beef and cheese empanadas and a tray of arroz con gandules. Every dish was better then the next. My family who was in town still can get over how good it was ... do yourself a favor and make it point to visit this gem, not only does it serve the most authentic food but is also a full grocery store with authentic groceries with a full meat market. Not to mention staff that make you feel as though you are a part of...
Read moreI donât usually leave reviews, but this offense demands a warning to others: do NOT get the birria tacos from La Hacienda Meat and Grocery unless you enjoy dry, bland, and lifeless food masquerading as Mexican cuisine.
They serve birria tacos without consomĂ©. Let that sink in. No rich, savory broth. No dipping. No soul. Itâs like serving cereal without milk or pasta without sauce â an absolute culinary crime. The tacos themselves were equally uninspired: tough meat, zero seasoning, and no texture or flavor to redeem the mess. Itâs an embarrassment to the art of birria, a dish rooted in centuries of tradition, slow-cooking, and deep flavor. What they served was a hollow imitation.
If you care at all about Mexican food â skip this place. They clearly donât understand the basics, let alone how to honor one of Mexicoâs most...
