I normally place an order for a falafel sandwich at minimum once a week, sometimes more. I even got a lot of friends and family hooked on their falafel. However, I went in yesterday, Thursday, June 29th a little after 6pm. There was a new young girl at the register and sadly she didn't display hygiene etiquette. I asked for a sample of their cabbage to see, if I'd like to make an order and before making my sample, I literally witness her go off to the side where the beverage cooler is located and eat from her snack that she had resting on top of the garbage container. She was wearing gloves, but after her snack time she never switched out her gloves for new gloves and she made my sample without using an utensil and with her gloved hands that she ate from moments ago, as well as touching the register. I was thoroughly disgusted and quickly went up to the register and told her I no longer wanted the cabbage and explained , I thought she would be using utensils to handle the food and not her hands, since she's at the register handling payments. I will never patron this establishment again after that. Thank goodness I saw her do it, because what if, I didn't see it and ate the cabbage that was tainted with her dna and germs from the register and gotten sick? That's a huge health violation. She should not being working in the food industry. Please be aware of certain employees flawed hygienic practices. Just know that your health can potentially be at risk. So, eat here at your own risk! I'm so disappointed because I truly enjoyed the falafel sandwich at Falafel Place, but after all the world has been through due to COVID and the pandemic it's mind boggling to see people in the food industry be so careless...
Read moreI ordered on a whim and was so pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The falafel is well flavored with a nice crisp on the outside but the inside is so light. Not at all dry or overcooked. I’ve ordered takeout a few times now and it’s been consistent. Today I tried the hummus pita sandwich, and while I knew I would like it, I didn’t expect to love it. I’m not new to a hummus sandwich, but I really liked the addition of the whole chickpeas, the hummus was fresh, and the pickles were the perfect unexpected flavor and crunch I didn’t know I needed. I moved recently from the Bronx, and grew up eating a lot of Mediterranean food, so I’m so glad this place is around the block from my new home. Last but not least, I’m obsessed with the dolmas. That green sauce is incredible. I’ve never had dolma with any kind of sauce, but now I’m hooked. I just ate an order a few hours ago and I’m genuinely considering ordering another.
The prices are really great for the quality of the food. The servings aren’t very big, but I found it was the perfect amount for lunch. For a hummus sandwich, falafel salad, dolma, and 2 sodas, I think I paid $33. For a miniature Greek salad with chicken anywhere in the area, I pay $20+, so I’ll take it. This place doesn’t sell meat (which should be relatively obvious), but I didn’t even miss it. This...
Read moreThis is very difficult for me to do, because I have been a tremendous fan of the place since it opened, encouraging them to go from being open only on weekends to opening all week. The falafels are amazing and they have always had great service, that is until now. I tried calling one day and no answer, weird. Again, today I called again to order on my way home, to save time and was also very hungry. Showed up to see what was happening. Turns out the girl at the register was NOT taking phone orders because she had too many orders already, and didn't want to take any more. SO, if you wan to get an order, you now MUST use an ordering service, such as Uber Eats, Door Dash etc. or you can go in person and wait for all the app orders to get done first. So you have to pay more, for the service to get food. LOST CUSTOMER! I have sent many people and now I will tell...
