One word that sums up my night is atrocious. While I try to only leave positive reviews to help businessesā especially local and small businessesā this will have to be an exception. My family and I went to enjoy a meal on their outside seating patio. While the environment there is nice but buggy, it canāt outweigh the cons. My meal started off after waiting over 10 minutes to receive our drinks, with my glass of wine being spilled on not only myself but also my daughter and dog. While I understand these things happen, when the bill came, we were not comped anythingā which by customer service standards would be the right thing to do. When we went to order our dinner, we were informed that not only did they run out of the steak but the chicken my daughter wanted to order āwouldāve taken 45 minutesā. From there, we ordered a different steak, and my daughter got pasta. Once the food came out, the steak was a terrible cut of meat and was fatty. The baked potato was inedible because it wasnāt even cooked. French onion soup was just cheese reheated and tasted like acid, and the pasta my daughter got was absolutely disgusting. To say the least, we all left hungry. As I said before, when we received the bill, we were charged for everything, and our waiter never came back to even get the bill. My husband went inside to see there was an abundance of wait staff standing around when the whole night we couldnāt get a hold of our waiter. Again, while I understand that these mistakes are bound to happen at some point, maybe we would give this place a second chance if they did anything to have tried to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLast week I for Motherās Day I looked around for the perfect place for such a special lady. Upon my research I came across a restaurant called The Wicked Wolf North. Overall, it looked perfect as it had ample options at a reasonable price.
Upon entering the restaurant my hopes of giving my mother a proper gift was quickly dashed. One of the appetizers ordered were meatballs which were gray, severed without marinara sauce, and bland. I flagged down our server to inquire about the food and was told they were good so just eat them as they were featured in a magazine. I found this response disrespectful as when I voice a concern about my food I donāt wish to be challenged or told to just eat it. While they did eventual provide a Cesar Salad as a substitute, I found this worse as it was dry and severed without a dressing or cheese. The main course fared no better. The potatoes and other vegetables were ice cold and for dessert you guessed it another misstep with a rice pudding that was bland and forgettable. I was surprised they couldnāt sprinkle a little cinnamon on top for flavor.
Additionally, the side of the table I was sitting on had a section that was tucked away. Unfortunately, the brace that holds it in place was broken and I ended up with that part of the table in my lap for the entire meal.
Lastly to add insult to injury when I mentioned this to management, they completely ignored me as if I wasnāt even there. Fatherās Day is a few weeks away. I would highly recommend skipping this restaurant so that at least your father may have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI wish I had taken more pics of the food!! But we had brunch at the newly revamped Wicked Wolf north and it š was š delicious š.
We had the BLT based on a recommendation from someone in a Westchester foodie grouo. We shared it as an appetizer and from the Brioche toast to that tender slab of bacon to the fried green tomatoes to the tangy sauce with what tasted like chow chow bits mixed in, it was delicious.
And the steak and eggs was PERFECTLY cooked. I mean perfectly!!! And my friend had corn beef hash and said it was next-level. Sheās never had corned beef hash this good! (It looked fantastic!).
And the service was kind and heartfelt and not overly solicitousā which I love.
Chef Jack stopped by and was kind and asked for not only positive feedback but if we had any other constructive feedback. We offered that the sides from the bar menu and maybe a few other items like the lobster roll would be good in the main menu (it is odd that you canāt order off the bar menu in the dining room, but the bar menu prices are SO low, that I guess they need people to buy alcohol to keep them that way? š¤·āāļøš¤·āāļø).
But itās a 9.7 out of 10 for me. NY has so many places I want to try, it takes a LOT for me to plan to revisit a restaurantā¦Iāve got firm plans to go Back in around two weeks!
And the charming location is an added bonus.
This is...
