Asean Diner — Restaurant in Claremore

Dropped into Asean the other day with minimal time, so I had to settle for take out. Good thing because the place is hoppin at lunch time, and not a lot of places to sit, so plan accordingly. I opted for the combo fried rice, egg drop soup, spring rolls and Chicken chow mein with steamed rice. Still hot and fresh after arriving home in Owasso, I can say that not a single item failed to hit the mark. The soup was very good with a subtle yet wonderful flavor that I can't place. The spring rolls were good, if not maybe a tad overcooked. The chicken chow mein had plenty of vegetables and meat, and while some of the ingredients weren't what I'm used to for this dish, it was nonetheless outstanding. And the fried rice.... best in the area. I love it that the put bean sprouts in their rice, something other places seem unable to understand. Plenty of protein as well, and not overly pea heavy, which was nice, as I thoroughly detest green peas. I will definitely make the trip back over to C'more for some more of this...

Great Pho and even better people.

This is the only Pho available in Claremore and honestly, it's all we need.

I wish they had more options for Pho like flank and fat brisket, but brisket and meatballs are great too. From speaking to a friend familiar with traditional Vietnamese food and culture, this is one of the more authentic recipes in the area.

What makes this place even better are the owners. They have had to make a lot of changes for COVID like we all have, but they have adapted well. They are currently open for dine-in during the week, but only open for carry out on Saturdays.

Price before tip...

I was excited to go try this restaurant due to the good reviews on line. When I walked in she just stared at me. She didn’t greet me. It wasn’t even busy. If it was busy I’d understand. I went and sat down and it took her awhile to bring me my menu and water. She didn’t greet me, but placed my menu and water on the table. I decided to order when she came and took my order. I felt like I was definitely not welcome there. Will I go back, no. Was the food all that great not really it’s okay. I paid for my food and still no nothing, she just gave...
