Dae Bak ChopHouse — Restaurant in Clarksville

I crave Dae Bak nearly every single day! I’m even contemplating moving back over to the Northside, just to be closer to their restaurant. (Lol) Everytime my wife asks me if I want to eat out & where I want to go I always holler out “DAE BAK!” My favorite is the pepper steak, it has a sweet taste to it. The spicy beef bulgogi is bomb. And of course the egg rolls are POPPIN’! Even the side dishes are delicious. I really recommend the Odeng! I could eat a whole order of that! Everytime someone asks me where they can get good Koreon food I recommend Dae Bak because it has something for everyone, even VEGAN & KETO food! They even can make you authentic Korean dishes that aren’t necessarily on the menu. Who else does that!? No one! They give you so much food too—I always have left overs. The portions are huge for the price! The mom makes everything homemade and you can tell she cooks with love and loves what she does! Tammy, the daughter, is welcoming and so funny. Clarkesville's Korean Diamond in the Rough.

I checked this place out because it had 5 stars. It deserves 6 stars.

The place is owned by a mother and her daughter. I know an authentic Korean restaurant from living in Korea. The food here is daebak (awesome)!

I ordered the doenjang jjigae (된장찌개), pronounced "dane-jahng-jee-gay". It's a tofu, potato, and clam stew. Very traditional Korean dish. This is hands down the BEST doenjang jjigae I've had since I've been back in America. It tastes just like the stuff I'd get down the street from my house by the marketplace.

The ladies there treat you like family. Incredibly friendly people who don't mind having a conversation with you! We sat and talked about Korea and food after my meal.

Prices were VERY reasonable, something you don't find in many Korean restaurants in America. I paid 12 bucks for loads of delicious sides, soup and a drink.

Very important to note about this place.. If there is a favorite dish you like, give them a call the day before and they might be able to make it for you!!

Yet another delicious Korean Spicy Pork meal!!!

I give this full 5 stars! The food was absolutely delicious and completely authentic. Everything I tasted was right on point. The flavors were great. I had the galbi. Cooked perfectly with a very nice char flavor. All the side dishes were wonderful especially the kimChi. The service was absolutely wonderful and had a home feel. I have eaten Korean style food at every place in this city and this is by far the best. This is now my go to place for this food. Don't be afraid of the menu because you can order just about anything even if it's not on there, just ask. I also loved the fact that they were open at 10am because some of us like to eat a brunch. I also got the fried chicken to go because it looked so good as someone else's order. Well, I was right. Absolutely on point. I recommend this place especially for those of us who love no frills, delicious authentic food in a local place that has a home style feeling atmosphere.
