I really had high hopes for this place but it disappointed me both times. Came for the soft opening. First issue we had was our waitress. She was nice enough but felt like she kept rushing us. Like we literally just sat down at our table and she asked if we’ve been here before? Um no you just opened today. Like what?? Then proceeds to ask are we ready to order. What??? We just sat down. So, we said no we need time with the menu. Let me also remind you. The first couple days, all the boba drinks were 50% off. So, we ordered two and our meals. Though out the whole meal our waitress came like every 5 mins to ask if we’re okay. Like literally. The ramen is bland. But, my omirice was delicious. The dessert was terrible. I had the matcha pudding and the after taste was so bitter. Tried to finish it but couldn’t. Our boba was charged full price. And we found out because we ordered a 3rd boba tea separately. So I asked to see the other receipt where we also paid full price. Asked our waitress about it. And was told she didn’t know about the promotion and she’d check. Got just one boba tea fixed. Then told her what about the other two? And she said it was fixed too. She lied. I confronted her and said it was still full priced. Then she went and “checked” with someone. And came back to tell us the other drinks wasn’t qualified for the promotion. Which didn’t make sense. So before we left we asked someone else. And they said no all boba was 50% off. We talked to the manager about the service we received and they fixed the problem somewhat. And we left.
Decided to try it 2 weeks later and give this place a second chance. In the beginning it was starting out well. Server was nice at the start, but when we got the food. My plate was ice cold. The rice tasted old. It was dry. My food wasn’t even hot. But, I didn’t want to make a big deal and said everything was fine when waiter came to ask how everything was going. And the ramen wasn’t up to par again. Still eating half way through our meal. Our waiter drops our ticket and didn’t ask if we needed or wanted to order anything else. Just drops it on our table and walks off. Then and there we decided to not come again for a long while or even at all. It’s not even busy but both times we just feel rushed. I don’t understand why.
The place is beautiful and so enchanting. But that’s pretty much the only thing that made this place okay and not completely a 1 star. I wish I could have loved this place and give a...
Read moreIt was a fine day to have a good lunch today, so I decided to visit this new place and see what's going on.
My first impression over the atmosphere was fantastic. Staff members greet with smiles and they're ready to serve you.
I had my recommendations over some menus and they did have some variety of choices.
They do have some combo meals that's fair and square, and they knew what we should get.
The omurice came with demi glace sauce which is bit bland and quite normal, and the Japanese omelette was cooked fantastic. They did nailed the texture, the egg was fluffy and melted in your mouth with right taste.
I know it's takoyaki, it's nothing fancy, but they had right mind of crispy outside and juicy inside.
The drinks from combo menus were good. I had my Taro smoothie, and it had a great thickness and right amount of flavor. Gotta try the lemonade!! It had just good amount of acid to cool you down and relaxing sweet lemon flavors.
Now this is ramen place, so I can't just leave without taste one of their ramens.
Tonkotsu was common for every places and I do respect that every place has their own different taste. What I had was bit off grid from where I was expecting. The broth was bland in flavor, but aroma came from the broth was just too strong, it had those 'long time cooked braised pork smells'.
I know it's ramen, and I'm sure I could say Japanese ramen has strong flavor and smell in common places located in Japan, but this is bit too much for other normal people to handle.
I would have given this place food 4 stars if they did get their broth straightened up.
Hopefully they'll get this review seriously and consider it as a future reminder of themselves to improve more for...

Hands down, Kyoto Ramen is not just the best Japanese restaurant in Clarksville, it’s an experience that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a cozy corner of Tokyo.
From the moment you walk in, the ambiance wraps around you like a warm hug: the lighting is gentle, the décor minimalist yet authentic, and the aroma of simmering broth is pure comfort. The vibe is peaceful, inviting, and alive with the quiet hum of people discovering their new favorite dish.
Let’s talk food: it’s spectacular. I ordered their spicy kimchi ramen with chicken instead of pork, and it was a flavor bomb in the best way. Bold, tangy, spicy, and deeply comforting. I also tried both the pan-fried and steamed dumplings, and honestly, it was impossible to choose a favorite — each one had its own delicious personality. Every bite was hot, fresh, and bursting with flavor.
To drink, I had their grapefruit and aloe tea — ordered a second one to leave with - bright, clean, and refreshing. A perfect cool-down to the heat of the ramen and the spice of the kimchi.
The menu is so tempting it was genuinely hard to make a decision, and now I’m already planning my next visit to try even more.
Service is warm, fast, and attentive. You feel like family, not just a customer.
If you’re looking for a meal that feeds not just your hunger but your soul, Kyoto Ramen is it. A true treasure in Clarksville, and without question, the best Japanese food in town. I read a lot of Japanese novels and this place definitely make me feel I've been whisked into...
