Wyatt Johnson Toyota had the lightly used car that we wanted and they did everything they could to make it a great deal for us!
I was looking for a new Toyota Highlander Platinum edition for my wife. It was her ādream carā, the car sheād always wanted! New ones were unavailable, anywhere, without special ordering one, and waiting months to get it. So I was looking at lightly used, one year old Highlanders. These also were hard to find.
Wyatt Johnson had one, Ruby Flair Pearl, exterior, (a pretty candy apple red), with a Glaze Carmel, interior, (a classy looking tan color), on their used lot. It was a one owner, one year old vehicle, with only 18,000 miles on it.
When the Salesman, Blaise Politico, and I, found the car, it was on Wyatt Johnsonās used import lot, and, unfortunately, it was filthy, inside and out!
I checked the car over. It was in beautiful shape, no exterior, or interior flaws, (other than the dirt), and the engine compartment was spotless! I test drove it, and I was VERY impressed with the power, the ride, the features of the Platinum package, (this thing is LOADED!), and the quite smoothness of the ride was exceptional! I felt like I was driving something much more than what I would have expected from a Toyota!
Let me digress here a moment and tell you, I, personally, have never been a Toyota fan. My wife however, loves them! She had a Camry, and a Corolla, when I met her, she was currently driving a RAV4, and she always wanted a Highlander. I was EXTREMELY IMPRESSED, with the high quality, soundness, solidness, ride, function and feel, of this Highlander Platinum! It was much more than I expected it to be!
I wanted to surprise my wife with it and have it in the driveway when she came home from work about 6:30-7:00 pm that night, but I couldnāt show it to her as dirty as it was! The one previous owner had been an elderly couple, who obviously had Grandchildren. The interior of the car was dirty, the rear cupholder looked like it had mud in it!
The Salesman, Blaise, promised to get the car spotlessly clean, and be in my driveway, with the car, at 6:30 that evening. He was true to his word! When he showed up, that car looked and smelled like a brand new car!
He and I, waited, while looking at more of the features of the Platinum package, for about 15 minutes, until my wife drove in, with her RAV4 from work.
She was excited, LOVED the appearance of the Highlander, inside and out, test drove it, and was immediately sold! (I was pretty sure she would love the exterior and interior colors!)
Blaise took the car back to the dealership that night, and the next morning, we went to buy the car. We wanted to get a buyers order and take it to our Credit Union for financing, but Wyatt Johnson was able to handle all the financing and paperwork, with our preferred source of financing, right from there.
If thereās any downside to the entire car buying experience at Wyatt Johnson Toyota, it would only be this; it took us over five hours to get the paperwork done and leave with the car! We waited sooooo loooong for the paperwork process to get done, that we actually had to leave for an hour to go get some lunch, and when we got back, still didnāt get out of there for another hour!
But other than that, we were completely satisfied with our buying experience at Wyatt Johnson Toyota, and Iām a proud owner of a very high quality Toyota...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBuckle up!! Itās story time. Myself and family have purchased from Wyatt Johnson several times with great service. All New vehicles⦠so I want to preface by saying that we 100% understand used vehicles are used⦠things happen. My own husband does collision repair for a used car dealership and even they have no problem standing behind their inventory of 95% salvage title vehicles. Our issue is the Ethics and morals of Wyatt Johnson. My sister purchased a used vehicle there Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Paid cash. Paid $3k more than others recently sold in the area with the same miles and package and less damage than this one! She just needed a vehicle large enough for her growing family and they had one within her price range. Paid $17k cash mind you. She was there almost all day which blows my mind when she was not financing. Didnāt make it the 45 minutes home before the check engine light came on. Well the service dept was closed at this point, had the code read, cylinder 2misfire and bad o2 sensor. So the new car her kids were so excited over sat in the driveway until I could help out and take it back down to the service department for her. After 2 days they offered to change a spark plug and coil pack for $175 for parts which was not covered under warranty. They did end up changing them (I think) at no cost. The check engine light was still on when they test drove it at pick up oops did you forget to clear the code or just didnāt do anything⦠They cleared the code and said they fixed it. It was driven home and the next day low and behold the light shines again, same codes, bad O2 sensor and misfire on the same cylinder. She says forget it,I canāt keep going back and forth and I need a reliable vehicle, I want to return it and letās make a new deal.. THE RESPONSE: Thereās no lemon law in TN. You can bring it but you have a deductible on your 30 day warranty. Had she driven it for a week even before the the problems started. Iād get it. But itās been 3 or so weeks now and this vehicle still hasnāt been āwithout an issueā 24 hours. More coil packs, all the spark plugs, sensors that wasnāt originally replaced a fuel injector, oh did I mention it almost caught fire because one of the seals was bad? Numerous trips, numerous trustworthy mechanics.. the salesman knew her backstory, a mom, just trying to do her best, and now no other option but to be out $17k + some sort of deal could have been made, but the effort was not there. Who cares about semi local loyal customers when you live near an army base and have guaranteed business. Super...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn July 26, 2025, I brought in my 2011 Toyota 4Runner to be looked at for an oil leak. I live in Bowling Green Kentucky and didn't want to risk driving my vehicle to Bowling Green with an oil leak. They contacted me after their diagnosis and of course they did their 15 point sale inspection as usual And told me that my car needed an alignment Which it didnāt as confirmed by my Toyota dealership in Bowling Green, Kentucky all it needed was a tire rotation. They also claimed I needed a new cabin filter which it did not because I had had my cabin filter replaced three weeks ago at my Bowling Green dealership. Just give them the benefit of the doubt I opened up the compartment myself and found the filter to be absolutely clean.
The big item was the oil leak. They came back with an estimate of $7000 to repair my oil leak stating that my oil pressure sensor had gone bad and was leaking and then I had oil coming from my timing cover. This threw up some red flags so I called my dealership in Bowling Green, Kentucky and they seem to be very skeptical and said that the repair should only cost about $208. They were skeptical in regards to the leak from my timing cover. Rather than take a chance and drive my vehicle back to Bowling Green, Kentucky and risk damage to my engine. I had it towed to Bowling Green to my dealership. After they examine the vehicle, they said that I only needed an oil pressure gauge and replaced it total for my repair was $208. There was no oil leaking from my timing cover. Note: None of my repair estimates were given to me in an itemized fashion Nor was I given any alternatives to their repairs. For instance, I couldāve bought a brand new engine for my vehicle From the company that makes Toyota engines for around $3500.
If you take your vehicle into this dealership to have a repair, my suggestion is get a second opinion. Because either their business practices are shady or they are incompetent. Please note that I spoke to one of their former mechanics who stated this dealership is notorious for ripping people off. When I discussed the matter with the manager, he seemed to believe it was a difference of opinion. That didnāt make any sense because all Toyota dealerships are held to the same standards and specifications for repairs. He offered to repay me for the inaccurate diagnosis of my vehicle But not for my toe to my Toyota Of Bowling Green dealership stating that āit was my decision to have the vehicle towed.ā Yes, it was. My decision to have the vehicle towed in order to save...
