This was a pleasant surprise. Genuine Southwest Louisiana-style eating. Direct from Lake Charles, LA. The combo baskets are definitely enough for two people. Make sure you're ready to get messy, because the combos come out in a steaming bag and you eat with your fingers. Revised 19 February 2024 I stand by my original comments about the food, but I am going to have to add comments about the wait staff. Our waitress attended our table three times during our visit. 1) To take our drink order. 2) To deliver our drinks and take our food order. 3) To deliver our food. There were NO visits to check on our drinks, check on our food, or to see how we were doing. For a restaurant/wait staff that requests tips starting at 18% this is unacceptable. This is why diners are getting upset about the tipping situation. Restaurants that expect, or demand from parties of six or more people, 18-22% tips, then do nothing to earn those tips. They want to do the bare minimum and expect a 20% tip. For exceptional service I routinely tip between 25-50% of the meal cost. The wait staff at Storming Crab could not even provide adequate service.

One of those places you love to go to as much as you can, especially if you're from the West Coast and are missing Boiling Crab! It's all super delicious. Especially their cheese bread which is at first complimentary! One piece for each person in your table! You'll want more and I suggest more! The more affordable items are definitely the shrimp and it's always a good go to. Definitely add extra sausage in my opinion, however, it does come with a small amount of red potatoes, SOME sausage, and one piece of corn. So if you pay for an extra one make sure you really do get two!! I didn't know that the first time I went there. And who doesn't love their money's worth in food! If you don't like spicy stuff definitely stay at mild or below btw. All in all, never a bad place to enjoy some good food! It's always filling! Even if you're a little picky about seafood (me! 😅).

First of let me say that I am from Mobile, Alabama. I have had some great seafood but this is by far the best I've had (as a steamed variety). I ordered 4 lbs of crawfish and 1lb of green oysters and it was outstanding. The crawfish tails weren't as seasoned as I'm used to, maybe they steamed it instead of boiling it but it was still good nevertheless. For the season, I got a mixture of cajun, Garlic butter, and something else but omg phenomenal! I literally just had crawfish at home about a week ago and was very disappointed. They were good but small so you didnt get much meat. Storming Crab's crawfish hiwever were big and meaty plus that seasoning at the bottom of the bag ouuuuuu wee! I promise you I'm not exaggerating stop by and get some! You will see what I'm talking about! Edit they also give you gloves and a bib. They also let you draw on the walls! 😍

Mom and I decided on option 2 (Dungeness crab, clams, shrimp, corn ( double corn no sausage) and potatoes=$60. Fulfilling for two people. You receive 2 pieces of complimentary seafood bread, so we didnt order it as an appetizer. Customer service was great. Sat 12/14 (pm). Our bag was HOT and FRESH... anexplanation of the menu can be broken down a little better. We had to look on a wall to understand prices. Luckily we weren't too far from the wall. Dugeneness is not my fav but option 3 had snow crab but was more than option 2. This was a test trial. So this is what you'll get for the price. And option 1 was Clams, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. Next time I'll get a bag of Snow crab. Not to keen on the Dungeness and the clams, I'd say a 3.5 out 5 on flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. Really loved our server, she was as very helpful.

Had bad experience with wait staff and hostess...not sure who was responsible...hostess wouldn't give me 1st clean booth that was on back, but gave me second clean booth...I asked for back booth and hostess said she had to ask wait staff...didn't see her ask my wait person. But hostess gave me the second clean booth. Wasn't busy so I really don't understand why I wasn't given the booth that I requested and was cleaned first. Still left good tip even with request denied...wow...I came back...asked for booth n same hostess said no booths available...3 booths on left side of restaurant are empty...asked bout them n she says I can't sit anyone there...really? Too bad this place has best oysters in town otherwise I would try Jumbo Crab...15 minutes later....sitting in one of the previously empty 3 booths...go figure...

We came in pretty late, maybe had an hr, if that! Service was great! The young lady was pleasant and attentive. I was sooooo hungry! We received some seafood bread, which is always good. The fried oysters were decent! I loved my food, I ate it all, and it was a lot lol. The snow crabs were yummy, corn, ehh, potatoes. I had the Cajun seasoning, too good. The crawfish were good too. My honey had so much shrimp he took some home & fixed a meal the next days. This was my first time dining in, we normally door dash! It was definitely a great experience. Also they have a hand washing station too. A+
