My family and I visited this past Saturday afternoon. When we arrived there was a wait. The hostesses were very nice and the wait wasn’t bad! (Off to a good start) When we sat down we were pretty quickly greeted. Our server was a bit older than us (we’re in our late 20s and early 30s) and she did her best to explain the menu. We went with the number 4 dinner combo which for the price is a pretty good deal. It was $53 after tax for 1lb snow crab legs, 1lb of shrimp, and 1lb of crawfish and a bit of sausage, potatoes, and corn thrown in. (This is all that we ordered and we drank water.) The quality was pretty decent and I think we got more food than we were expecting. Everyone knows seafood is a little expensive so we were pretty happy with the amount. Here’s my only problems with the experience. The shrimp was over cooked. You could tell because the shell was a harder to peel off than it should be. And when our food arrived, it arrives in plastic bags in a bucket for your shells to go in. -Well our bag had melted, no big deal. But instead of taking it to the back to rebag it, it was done at the table.. usually this wouldn’t be a huge deal to me but considering my 3 month old little girl was in my boyfriend’s lap. This very much bothered me! I’d rather not have something obviously hot enough to melt plastic, a foot away from my child’s face. Also there is a LOT of butter in those bags. We’re used to seafood coming seasoned and with the butter on the side. Everyplace is different- which is fine! But if I had known this before I would have specifically ordered it on the side. The menu isn’t very descriptive as to how it’s served, just listed ingredients. Generally speaking, our server just seemed to be stressed out. It was pretty busy in there and as veteran bartenders and servers, we understand better than anyone that sometimes it gets hectic and yes can be a stressful job! But also with having said that- we’re not very needy, we’re polite, and we always tip 20% or over. Upon using the bathroom before leaving, they were out of hand soap. Luckily I had my diaper bag with me and I had some soap in there. But with only one dispenser maybe make sure your doing bathroom checks often so your customers have what they need.? I didn’t hate this place by any means!! I was actually VERY eager to try because it’s pretty close to our home! But I will say that we’re not chomping at the bit to come back here. I know it’s a new place, I’ve been with restaurants since opening and I know it takes time to work out the kinks with a brand new place! I hope that they do, this could be an...
Read moreThis is a good place to get seafood that is similar to the Joe's Crab Shack chain (but it's not a chain restaurant, so that's always a good thing). It's not too far from Fort Campbell, and there's a parking lot too. I like the outside decor, because on one side they have a huge mural of an angry looking crab; but otherwise the outside is not very appealing to look at because it looks a bit like a factory. There is a hostess at the front, and although the restaurant looks very big outside, inside it's kind of small, but I think it's because they have a lot of tables and booths set up instead of spaced out. I enjoyed eating there, and my recommendation would be to get one meal to share. We did not know this the first time we went and we ordered our own, and ordered something for our daughter too... but really, for $40 you can get one that will feed like three people. We ended up with so much leftover to take home, and I usually don't like taking home restaurant leftovers. They give you your food in a heavy duty clear plastic bag (it's a seafood boil, which means everything is all mixed together), being a NYC gal and living I'm the east coast this is very familiar to me (but just an FYI for you folks that are far from the ocean). They don't give wet wipes like most seafood restaurants do, instead they give you these very big plastic gloves so your hands don't get dirty, and of course the oversized bib that comes is all these seafood restaurants. Having learned our lesson the first time, the next time we went back we ordered one meal for the three of us to share. You can also mix and match, and add other things too (for an additional price). Inside you can write on their walls, my daughter enjoyed reading the writings on the wall. I like the decor as well, reminds me of something you would see in Florida or Maine,...
Read moreMe and my friend went, we were supposed to be a group of 6, but the rest of the group cancelled last minute. We apologized multiple times after saying our party size had went down, but that’s where the rude service started. The lady barked at us “You can’t let anyone else join, not even one person,” we calmly agreed and were coldly taken to our seat, where we apologized again because it was an honest mistake. I honestly think our server forgot about us or was just mad at us because it took her about 10 minutes before she came to our table and took our order. After that, we barely saw her unless she was dropping our food off, she never came to check on us or nothing, and whenever she did come, she had the NASTIEST attitude. This treatment was specific to our table, because the table beside us was given a much more positive attitude by our server. She dropped the wrong food off to our table, the table that came after us got their food first, and she was just uninterested it seemed like when she was talking to us. I forgot to check our servers name, she was brunette and wore heavy eyeliner, but she (and the hosts) made the experience horrible. The food wasn’t even that good, the one star that I’m forced to give are for the oysters we ordered, they were delicious, but that’s about it. Real...
