I almost felt like I was in Mexico. The food tasted good. The tacos were 2.50 or 3.99 depending on what kind. We were told that they had the best tamales but we didn't even try them. My husband had chicken fajitas and I had a asada quesadilla plate. Our bill including a generous tip was less than $30. They had coke with real sugar, horchata, jarritos, and many other drinks. They had a kids menu and you could even get French Fries. The service was good despite the fact that the waitress was very overworked. She seemed to be the main translator for the men who worked there. In addition to being a restaurant it is also a tienda or store so you could buy lots of things that you wouldn't see in an typical Mexican restaurant. OH MY GOD, they have to have the BEST BURRITOS EVER. So I found out about this place during the pandemic or whatever and I’m from Louisville and basically every restaurant was closed in Louisville sooo I went to Indiana but everyone from Louisville was there so ALL the restaurants were PACKED. So I was about to go back home since I didn’t want to wait then I see Mexico City 2 just there alone and I walked in and was greeted really nicely 😊, and me and my girlfriend ordered chicken burritos and our order came so quick (another reason why I love this place). And when I took a bite into that burrito... I’m happy to say I’m a Mexico City 2 burrito addict now. The food is generally quite good but can be inconsistent depending on which cook is working. Even though the hours are posted as open until 10:00 p.m. don't show up after 9:30 to place an order for carry-out or you will be told that it is too late. LOTS of cops eat there so that should tell you something! On my most recent visit (Jan. 15), my companion and I sat by the front window as we usually do but after sitting down she commented that it was quite cold. Thinking that moving away from the window might be better, I suggested that we move closer to the kitchen. It didn't help, it was so cold in there that I had goosebumps.
