Storming Crab is amazing. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and their seafood specials are large and scrumptious. It is by far the best seafood meal I've had the pleasure to eat in at least 6 months. We purchased their Seafood Bread and a modified version of Special #2 (Mild Cajun Style) and two sweet teas.

To start the night our waiter was well versed in the menu. He was even able to tell us what ingredients were used to create the delectible seafood bread.

Shortly after our meal was entered into the point of sales system, our appetizer arrived. It looked like normal cheese covered garlic bread, similar to what you would expect from an Italian restaurant that serves cheese bread, it was a surprise what I found inside. Freshly shredded crab, mixed with garlic and a few other ingredients, spread on a partial loaf of Italian bread and then covered with muliple cheeses, and then put in the broiler just long enough to melt that cheese. It was delectable, and the cost is what surprised me. Four pieces of this bread for only $4.99! Wow...what's great deal.

As we were finishing our appetizer, our entree arrived! We had ordered Special #2 but substituted crawfish for the clams that normally came with this bucket of seafood. The special we ordered came with a whole Dungeness Crab, one pound of shrimp and one pound of crawfish! On top of all that we got three pieces (half ears) of corn on the cob, about six redskin potatoes (sliced in half), and several dozen slices of smoked sausage all cooked in a large bag, filled with butter and the type of seasoning you choose. The options were Old Bay Butter, Garlic Butter or Cajun Butter. We chose Mild Cajun Butter as mentioned earlier. The amazing part was the fact that, even though they had only been open a few weeks, the chefs cooked the seafood like they have been doing it for years. It all comes out in a bucket and a large plastic bag. The corn was sweet and savory; the potatoes were moist; the sausage had been sauted to perfection; then the best part was the seafood. The crawfish slid right out of it's shell, and the shrimp was the best shrimp I think I have ever tasted. Then the crab! It was perfection. As soon as you cracked open the shell, the crab easily fell right out allowing me to dredge it in the Cajun butter that it had been cooked in. And the portions they gave you were amazing. It was like the gift that keeps on giving. Also with your meal the staff also provides you plastic gloves, an apron and the normal seafood extraction tools, to protect you from the butter bomb that's about to explode at your table.

All in all the experience was one I can't wait...

This restaurant was the last place I visited, before leaving the area. The food was extremely good and the customer service from the receptionist to my waiter were all awesome❣️ The propotions were extremely large, enough for me to eat on for a few days. The drink was perfect, the Seafood cheese bread was good as well (and I'm not a cheese eater like that). Being a pescatarian, it's very challenging to find food that I can eat. So when I was told about this place from a nicenyoung lady at Ross, I had to try it out. I'm glad I did❣️ I definitely took a few pics and sent them to my family. I think we are foodies in our hearts❣️ Another few unique things about the restaurant is they have huge white papers on your tables or if you eat at the bar, so you can eat however you want to eat your food (hands or the cute utensils' packet wrapped in a long plastic bib, w/plastic gloves, shell cracker🦀🦐🐚, a fork🍴, and a scrapper type of fork for those eating crab or items you want to get to quicker). I used my fingers for my order, which were the fried okra and fish sticks (two individual appetizers w/a special of 2 for a lower price, don't over look it, but if you have a great waiter/waitress they'll let you know like mines did😁), as my appetizer, and my main course was a 4pc catfish & sweet potatoe fries. Their sweet potatoes fries were definitely different, a VERY good difference, that I didn't need to order a dessert❣️ I think they may have had cinnamon and brown sugar dusted over them, but they are by far the best ones I've had and took care of my sweet tooth❣️ It was really nice sitting down as a party of 1 and enjoying my food while it was very nice and hot❣️❣️❣️ Another awesome experience is my appetizers came out extremely quick and were very HOT❣️ My main course didn't take that long either❣️ My very handsome server kept checking on me as well. He also brought me some hand wipes since I was on the finger eatting list❣️🤣 Lastly, they have another unique thing they do, so don't judge a book by its cover...literally❣️ The first impression upon walking to the front door is alot of graffiti on it. This is also on all or majority of the walls throughout the restaurant. So don't forget to add yours before you leave❣️ Just ask your waiter/waitress for a marker or bring...

Overall, this experience gets a C+. The service was fantastic from start to finish. We were greeted with a smile by the host and had capable and qualified server. We ordered seafood bread for the app - essentially a oaf of really cheese garlic bread sliced into five pieces. It was delicious except for the fact that the fact that the inside two pieces at the center of the loaf were slightly undercooked/underheated, resulting in lukewarm, slimy cheese with soggy bread underneath. My family simply ate around it. No biggie.

My niece and I got the gumbo with rice. Big mistake. The brother was way too clear for my liking - the color of chicken noodle soup almost, where as I'm used to a gumbo with a far more red or brown color. I think they skip the roux for their recipe because it's also lacks any thickness/body to the broth. The soup bowl contained VERY small salad shrimp, dices of chicken, a piece of sausage or two and some unidentifiable other piece of seafood that the server said would be crawfish. It was more spicy than flavor but not too spicy.

For my entree I got the fried shrimp basket, which to my surprise was clearly store bought frozen pre-breaded shrimp that had been headed in the oven (or maybe flash fried) and served with my fries. I don't know why I expected the shrimp to have been in house breaded and fried, but I did. I def think considering the basket only comes with 8 or so shrimp, rather than popcorn shrimp, they should take the extra step serve the real thing. Nonetheless the basket was satisfactory. Fries were hot a tasty. Cocktail sauce was good.

My family members got two combo - a bounty of crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn and clams. They enjoyed their food. They have 5 combos of varying makeup, ranging in price from about $42 to about $70. You can also order any seafood item a la carte. You're definitely paying for the experience, as moat of the items are about 2 1/2x the price you'd pay for the item in the seafood department. This place seems slightly higher with far fewer options than Joe's Crab Shack and The Seafood Lady.

This place isn't my cup of tea, but it certainly will be for many...

I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff. The atmosphere was great. Great menu selection, with lunch and dinner. Dinner being one pound, and lunch being half a pound. The cocktail sauce, being in house made tasting, was awesome. The Seafood bread was so tasty, I could eat that all day, plus you get one piece each complementary. I liked the fried scallops, but they got soggy pretty quickly. The french fries were okay, they have that nasty paper tasting coating like several of the junk fast food places, but theirs were cooked better, as in golden as fries should be. The crab cakes were just this side of okay. The cakes were too fat making the inside a little under cooked while the outside was perfect. Way overpriced for the two cakes you get! Time for the sad and bad. The lobster tails were very tasty, but omg over cooked, clearly from frozen, overpriced for the very low quality. The snow crab legs were extremely small, over cooked and from frozen, too. The Old Bay boil was good, how could you mess that up, with a nice touch of added heat. Lastly the bad. I asked if the onion rings were batter or cornmeal, after checking they said batter. Well they were not batter, but the cheapest, nastiest, frozen cornmeal junk rings that I have seen in quite some time. The menu has market prices listed, but those are the fresh never frozen prices, where what is served here is frozen low quality. The type you get for $6.99 at Kroger, frozen lobster tail. They charge almost three times that. Was not happy with the deception. Overall I would rate them at a two star, but gave them three as my sister spilled her drink and they were great about it.
