Wawa — Restaurant in Clayton

If it wasn't for the food, this review would have been 2*. We were very excited about a Wawa opening in our area. We frequented Wawas when we lived up north in PA and those stores were great for the most part.

This new location is too chaotic to be enjoyable. First, the parking is minimal. Second, tomatoes were left off one of our hoagies ( we didn't notice it until we got home). Third, I ordered an ice coffee and on the app along with our food order. We picked up our food at the counter, but my coffee was nowhere to be found. We were repeatedly told it was on the app order pick up shelves, but it was not there. After going back and forth 3 times, someone (an employee ) finally handed it to us (and after the whipped cream had already disintegrated). Lastly, unlike Sheetz, there is no seating if you wanted to eat there.

Not sure if we'll visit this location again. We have a Sheetz location which is more conveniently located, serving pretty much the same items, and has their act together.

So for us. Sheetz is still our top choice, 7 Eleven second and Wawa (at least this new location) a distant third.

Noise level...

Not too sure about some of these other reviews with lower ratings as I think they're forgetting about highly busy times with this newly opened fan favorite establishment, but for me this place has been 4-5 stars since it's opened! Of course it was really crowded opening week and can still get pretty bad and slow since then but the workers do try their best and have a friendly demeanor. As someone who works in the food industry herself, it can be a lot, but even a simple smile and thank you from both associates and customers go a long way!

The store itself is still pretty clean since opening and keeps stock of items pretty well. Gas prices can not be beat here and I hope it stays like that! Even their reward system is pretty great (though the app can be a little temperamental sometimes).

Kaliah and Micheal were wonderful and I'm grateful for the little pick-me ups they were able to offer my and myself today.

I'll take a Wawa over Sheetz anyday, sorry...

They Say That the World Runs on Dunkin.. That's because most did not have the privilege of having a WAWA nearby!! As a Jersey girl that has been outside of the states that WaWa's were in, I realized that WaWa is more than just a store! Now that WaWa has come to garner nc, only 20 ish minutes away from Cary, my kids and I are Thrilled that we get to have a piece of home nearby!

We've been a few times and each time, it was insanely packed, which only made me see how important WaWa is to Nor easters! The staff seem unfazed to how crazy packed the store is! They are kind and helpful! The sandwiches are just as good as I remember and the Coffee!!!..😋😋 There is no other place where the coffee is this good!!
