Five Guys — Restaurant in Clearwater

This is a personal experience. My son has been asking to go to five guys for months so when we went to Clearwater beach we decided to have lunch at five guys. We ordered two burgers, two small fries and two small drinks which cost us $36. I thought for that price It's better be the best burger I've had in a while but I was wrong. Before hand I tried convincing my son to go across the street to Culver's where I've been before without any incidents but he really wanted five guys. The bread was extremely soggy, breaking down on its own before touching it, the condiments were dripping off the burger, it was gross trying to hold it when everything was coming apart. We fought that burger and we made a mess on our hands, plates and dripped on our shirts. Not a pleasant experience, a burger in my opinion is the easiest meal you can put together without needing any skill, how can you mess it up that bad? The quality of the burgers is always delicious! However, you have to keep an eye on them preparing your order because a lot of them don't take the time to read the preparation receipt. Today I orders a bacon double cheeseburger with extra cheese and extra bacon. Now it's a good thing I was watching them prepare it because they didn't put extra cheese on it and they put absolutely no bacon on it. I watched her wrap my order in foil and I said "It that #46?" she said yes. I said extra cheese? extra bacon? She didn't say a word she just opened the foil, looked at it and put the extra cheese on and put the extra bacon (keep in mind she initially forgot to put on any bacon). Now don't get me wrong the food quality and freshness is always superb but watch them prepare your order (if you can) and always always always double check your order before leaving to make sure they got it correct and put in all the extras you specified. High-priced yes. High Quality--absolutely! JOSE helped us patiently decide among the short list that is basically a burger with tone of options and toppings and a hot dog with several options. The split grilled hot dog was one of the best quality hot dog I have ever had. Others chose burgers with one or two patties with bacon and cheese combinations. I like that the food is mild, not spicy and you can choose lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and more. The ice tea machine offers 4 versions of tea so i chose to mix and match several flavors. They also have the Cocacola ® freesyle® machines. French fries are crisp outside and steamy inside. Note that they offer shelled peanuts so be aware for allergens.
