Island Estates Market and Deli — Restaurant in Clearwater

1st time I went I asked for a cheeseburger and asked the gentleman to make it medium well. The patty was under cooked and the bread was soggy because of it. I should have known since my order was given to me in less than 5 minutes. 2nd time I went I asked for the same order from a female and burger was served in 15 minutes to perfection. 3rd time I went I asked the gentleman for a bacon egg and cheese. I was told one was made, it was on a rack and to take that one because another would not be made. I didn't like my eggs that way and I wanted a freshly made, off the grill, hot sandwich. I was just simply told another would not be made because breakfast was not beingserved anymore. All this while he was making someone else a breakfast burrito. If I were you I would avoid purchasing any food off the guy in that store and wait for the lovely lady. She'll give you a smile and prepare your food with some love. To say That other guy is incompetent and shouldn't even be preparing food for himself would be an understatement. He shows no love for his profession and it translates in his attitude and food. The onion rings were top notch flavorful and hot, and my two hotdogs with ketchup tasted like a hotdog that god himself would have a special occasion for. Store was well stocked, and ice cream was the acme as well. What can’t this place do right? I was so impressed that I decided to come back for their signature chili dog. Let me tell you, all of those ingredients, the bun, dog, chili, and of course, love, all combined to create something better than any of them separately. I immediately demanded the helpful and jovial-looking grill master show me to the mastermind behind this otherworldly deli/ice cream parlor. My friends and I decided to stop by the market on our way to the beach because of all the amazing reviews. The market was well stocked and the staff was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype. We ordered chicken and beef empanadas. They tasted freshly made but were both lacking in flavor/seasoning. We ordered two BLTs and paid an up charge to add turkey. The sandwiches had literally ONE strip of bacon each. For a BLT, that’s unacceptable. Adding turkey should enhance the sandwich, not make up for the lack of bacon. If I’m paying extra, I expect a well-made sandwich, not something that feels like an afterthought.
