East Shore Resort — Hotel in Clearwater

We stayed here for the second time in as many years and loved every minute of it. Everything begins with the owners Billy and Terry who are so amazingly nice and genuinely care about their customers. It's almost like visiting fun relatives you haven't seen in years. They make you feel at home and it's such a welcome aspect that you just don't see much of these days.

Susan also is a delight and has a real inviting demeanor. We didn't really get to know any of the other staff, but you can tell that they care in how well kept up the accommodations and grounds are.

This place is a hidden gem and don't be fooled by the motel style look. It's really more of a cottage style feel and everything is relatively modern.

The location is a little more quiet than other places on the beach and the view of the bay is spectacular. There are great eateries within a couple blocks such as Clear Sky Cafe and the Beachcomber. The beach is only a short walk and ESR provides beach chairs, umbrellas, and even fishing gear if that's of interest to you. If you're on a tight budget, then the kitchens are all well stocked with cookware, dishes, and other amenities so you can dine in with ease. There are also two gas Weber grills available. It's nice knowing that there are really nice laundry machines available for free if needed.

Bottom line is that you really won't find a better deal for what you get with ESR and you'd be remiss to not give this place a serious...

We can’t say enough about this resort, everything was perfect! We stayed in an efficiency studio, specifically 7A! The unit was completely self contained and plenty of room for all our luggage! The room was so clean and no odor at all! Compared to hotels we’ve stayed at it was a complete surprise! We met the lovely Susan who manages the resort, the innkeeper! We also met the owners of this lovely place, Bill and his wife, very charming and eager to help or answer questions! The resort has a nice heated pool if the beach isn’t for you! The resort also offers guest laundry and all the soap, stain remover and fabric sheets for free! The washer and dryers are fairly new and well maintained! The resort also offers self serve free beer, very nice! The resort also has a covered area next to the marina where you can meet and talk with other guests, everyone that we met were very pleasant! The resort is located in a convenient location with easy access to the beach, restaurants, CVS, Walgreens which carries some grocery items! There is also public transportation, use the Jolly Trolley, a fun way to get around! The resort also offers free beach chairs and umbrellas, towels, fishing gear,and many other beach items! A tip, take the trolley further north to get away from the crowded beach there! Also, try restaurants that are further away from the main area, no waiting! Free parking and quiet air...

Spent a week at this property in November with family. This was our 3rd visit to Clearwater Beach although the 1st time we stayed at East Shore Resort. We chose Unit #5 which has 2 bedrooms. It perfectly accommodated my family of 4 as well as my in-laws. The location is well within walking distance to everything from the many restaurants on Mandalay to the beach and Pier 60. I'm a runner so the location also provided a great starting point to run the neighborhoods on the less busy north area of the island. The property is well maintained and beautiful. Pool was excellent. The private dock was cool and enjoyed by all. Inside Unit #5 we found plenty of space to find peace & quiet without ever feeling cramped. The kitchen was adequate enough to reheat meals or whip up a full dinner. We had such a positive experience at East Shore Resort we've already begun to plan our next trip and would not consider staying anywhere else. The staff were helpful and friendly. You won't be...
