My kids saw the big red pirate ship boat going by when we were at the beach and agreed to go on it. We went on a Friday night, choosing to avoid the heat of the midday cruise times and went at 4:30PM. We bought tickets online. Initially, there was an issue with the online purchase but upon calling them, they quickly recognized the error and had the website fixed and running again within the hour. They recommended we get there 30-60 min prior but no later than 20min prior to time we were scheduled to set sail. We got there about 40 min early as we took the trolley from our hotel. Because we were there so early we were the second group to board. They take pictures of your group together as you board, and later find you during the cruise to show you the picture in the frame asking if you would like to purchase it for $30. As they were shockingly able to get all 4 of us with eyes open and smiling (including our 10yo and 11yo), I thought this was a must. My son (11yo) did not like the activities on the ship but enjoyed the cruise. The pirates did try to get him and my daughter to participate, and they did participate in perhaps one or two things but it was more geared for younger children. My daughter (10yo) said the activities were "kind of cringe" but fun. The activities admittedly were more geared for younger children and it was obvious the other kids were having a lot of fun. The pirate crew were all engaging and good with kids. Despite this, all four of us had a nice relaxing time, and both kids said they enjoyed the cruise. My daughter gave it 4.5/5 while my son gave 4/5. They provided free wine, beer, champagne, water, and three flavors of Gatorade (grape, lemon lime and frost blue). You can also buy mixed drinks as well as snacks. I enjoyed watching all the kids playing and having fun. The pirates continued to try to engage my children with a smile during and after the cruise. We even saw a couple crew members manage to coax some smiles from them. The crew was wonderful, and they also appeared to be truly enjoying being there. For the crew alone, my husband and I felt they deserved a 5/5. We are glad we did the 4:30PM cruise, as not only did we avoid the scorching heat but it wasn't as crowded as the 7PM time slot. It was partly cloudy with a nice breeze. I also enjoyed the variety of music and the little dance party as well. As I heard one of the parents yelling after disembarking, "This was the best cruise we ever could have picked!"

It was ok. A lot of our experience had to do with crappy patrons and not the crew— however much could have been resolved with more communication from the crew. When we got on there was nowhere to sit because people sat down in seats and then insisted on holding/reserving them, despite this being an active experience and the point is to move about and shift perspectives. Several times people told us we could not sit down in an area— the crew did not communicate that people should make room and seats are not reserved. When it came time for the kids to go do the activities parents helicoptered in and crowded the room, not allowing space for all children. The crew audibly told us this was not the norm and not ok, but they never came on the speaker to tell parents to move. I ended up with one kid who was too overwhelmed by parents to participate. They did circulate with drinks and a photo option to purchase separately which was nice. However, last issue was that they absolutely blasted at the loudest volume possible heavy rock— like AC/DC, Guns N Roses- just a lot of screaming type of music— and for an already overstimulating experience it really took it to the next level. Once they started playing more options they lowered it and people were finally more relaxed and nice to their fellow travelers- but for the most part it was a pretty rough first hour and a half.

If you are looking for a cool, fun vibe, great music, and a relaxing experience.... KEEP LOOKING BECAUSE THIS ISN'T IT........DO NOT choose this boat. Imagine getting dressed up for a night on the town with your lady friends only to experience children shooting water guns at you, stepping all over you because a guy with a corny pirate act is leading them into games such as musical chairs. The "dance party" lasted for 2 songs (not even the entire duration of both songs), then the ride ended. To call that a "party" is laughable, to say the least.

This boat is EXTREMELY boring. Like, snooze-worthy boring (my friend actually fell asleep) and you'll be stuck for 2 whole hours of misery. You will need 10 refills of their disgusting "free" wine in order to endure this atrocity.

I honestly don't even think my small children would've enjoyed this (had they been with me) because they've experienced a REALLY fun pirate ship near Ft Lauderdale that puts this one to shame. So if you have children, I honestly wouldn't suggest bringing them to this one either. Just save your money and avoid.

Also, Tom (the "general manager") is very rude and argumentative and doesn't take constructive criticism from customers very well.

0/10 wouldn't recommend.

Good luck guys!

Edit: To your comments, TOM, and I'll keep this brief because it's really futile. I NEVER ever portrayed to my bank that I didn't receive services. I told them exactly what I told you: I was misled to believe this boat was something that it was not, which is actually a chaotic, slow moving, bore that you'll be stuck on for 2 hours. Other reviews will verify that claim.

Secondly, you never once called my phone or texted me because you NEVER ever had my phone number. Please stop lying!

Third, just like you aren't privy to my conversations with the bank, they don't call and update me on every thing you've said or communicated. I haven't spoken to them about this situation SINCE the day I filed the claim. Unlike you, this boat nor this claim are not at the forefront of my day-to-day agenda. So to insinuate that I called you because you submitted "proof" is ridiculous being that I have no clue what you've discussed with them nor when you discussed ...nor do I care.

For me, it was never about the $49 but rather the principal, which you care nothing about. I'm not the first 1-star review, nor will I be the last. I'm quite sure you will continue charging the most while providing the least and you've indicated that you have no plans of changing anything despite numerous bad reviews. But one thing for sure, whether you get your measly $49 back or not, this review will continue to sit here, free of charge. ;)...

Before you read on, do yourself a favor and read the lower level reviews both here and on Trip Advisor. One staff member wrongly accused a customer of theft on a cruise without proof. Seems the problem with rude staff members is a common occurrence. We went on Sunday Nov 13 in the afternoon and had a great time overall. There was a problem with the bartender who decided to cease any form of courtesy at all and began acting rudely towards our party shortly after departure. I’m not sure if this young girl was disappointed with the tips we provided or maybe just our presence in the ship but her unbelievably rude attitude was the only issue we had onboard. Whatever the reason, it’s always best to discuss any issues instead of throwing a tantrum and behaving like an immature child. Most of the people in our party chalked it up to her maturity level and it didn’t stop our children from having a good time. Most of the staff (apart from the young girl - bartender) made this a very enjoyable experience. The water pistols were great and there was a point where Pirate Pete needed to be put in his place by the kids onboard. They had a great time. It was a lot of fun for both the adults and the children in our party. There’s also a chance for adults to mingle while the kids are playing. A limited variety of alcoholic and soft drinks are provided and you can bring snacks onboard. I would still recommend this for others looking for something to do for a couple of hours. Great...
