Our food was good; however, that’s where the praise stops. Perhaps we visited on an “off” day, but the entire experience was highly disorganized and chaotic.
We were a party of three. Two people in our party were able to start our orders, but then the gentleman at the counter never began taking the third person’s order. Instead, he stopped to make five Grubhub orders. Since we were paying together, we just had to hang around and wait for the Grubhub orders to be started before we could complete our order.
The two of us that started our order before the “Grubhub pause” had a difficult time completing our order. There was a family in front of us ordering and instead of having us wait until they were finished ordering, which would make sense with the flow of the counter, they passed our burrito to the toppings station while we were still stuck at the burrito press waiting for the four people in front of us to be finished ordering/move along.
We were stuck having to speak across/over multiple people to try and tell the girl at the toppings station what toppings we wanted. Ultimately, the girl couldn’t hear us properly and not everything we asked for was added. After her third time asking what we wanted, I realized it wasn’t going to work and just said, “It’s fine. You can just wrap it up.” But honestly, how much sense does it make to try and have someone order from a station they aren’t even close to being in front of in a loud, chaotic environment? This feels like it should be common sense.
By the time my burrito was wrapped, it was placed in the bag for the family in front of me. It wasn’t until the family’s son pointed out that it wasn’t their burrito that the worker took it out. I told him that it is mine and that my party of three is still waiting to start our third order and will be paying together.
I can’t blame them for not knowing whose order is whose because there were several unfinished Grubhub orders sitting on the counter. I wasn’t sure who was more confused, the workers who caused this mess or me as I watched this level of dysfunction unfold.
The food was good, but it was not worth the aggravating experience of...
Read moreI visited today to pickup my online order. I’m aware it’s Coventry, so I was prepared to park down the street and walk. Head into the restaurant, the line staff were friendly and directed me to the cashier for pickups. The cashier comes back to the front and starts playing with his yellow acrylic nails with smiley faces. He didn’t greet me at all, just stands there. After greeting him, I let him know I have a pickup order. He grabs a overfilled, stapled paper bag with no handle. He hands me 2/3 drinks in a carrier and told me my 3rd drink is in my bag. I asked for a bag with a handle so I can repack my order…he walks off (the bags are in front of both of us), I decide to head to my car. I’m in front of City East where my bag rips and drops to the concrete. I go back in and I asked politely for my order to be remade after explaining my situation to the cashier. He nods his head and directs me to the food line. I told the line staff what happened and they started remaking my order. The cashier comes out the back after it’s done and says “This is my manager”…the “manager” looks at my receipt and says to me “next time you pay”. No greeting, no apologies for poor packaging, no regard for the fact that I spent $50+ on food and had to clean it up off of Euclid Hts Blvd (thanks to the patrons of CITY EAST for the help!). Just rude and entitled. I’ll take my future orders elsewhere. A 20 cent bag would’ve prevented $50 in food waste with your cheap antics and flavorless...
Read moreIt was our first order from cilantro taqueria on May 30, 2025 @0833pm. I've heard that this place is better than chipotle. So I mentioned that I want a gluten free order. This guy doesn't understand what I'm trying to say. So I typed GLUTEN FREE ALLERGY on my phone. But he seems like he never heard of this allergy before. So I requested him to change his gloves because he just prepared someone's order with flour tortilla. He changed his glove but looks likr irritated. After serving the rice and meat he was talking to his workmates in a different language while looking at me. Probably wondering why I asked to change his glove. Ignorance will harm or could kill someone. If you work in a food industry you should learn different allergens. Educate your workers so they know what they are serving. I did not even ask him of what are the gluten free options. I simply asked him to change gloves because I want to order a gluten free meal. I told my husband that this will be our first and last order here. They offer gluten free options on their website but it seems like people working in their restaurant are not...
