So I read the reviews and I liked that it’s the oldest Italian restaurant in Cleveland so I said to my friend let’s goooo! So off we went . I’m a born and bread Ny city boy so we know Italian and not disparaging Cleveland as you have your fair share of Italians as well and much respect to your town . We walked in and the atmosphere was great . I felt like we were in my grandmas house … Awesome vibe . Our server came around and if I could adopt her as my personal waitress every where I go I would … Mary Lou you’re awesome . We asked her opinion and we got it … she even told us what people love even if she didn’t like it … I’m with you Mary Lou I don’t like capers and too much salt as well. My business partner got the Fried Calamari and the Alfredo with shrimp and he was fully engulfed in both .. Bravo. I got the Veal parm after going back and forth on 3 items but I knew in my heart I wanted the veal parm . But secretly I wanted the lasagna . I told Mary Lou I was tempted to order the lasagna but I knew I couldn’t eat it…. And bam a few minutes later a little side of lasagna came over … who does that ??? Mary Lou that’s who does it she’s a queen. 27 years as a waitress please make sure she gets a raise !! lol. In the end I was stuffed and ready roll out the front door but I walked lol to the parking lot where the parking attendant was watching making sure no one was stealing the peaches off the tree. lol seriously a peach tree in the parking lot.. I can’t wait to see what they cook with that… Thank you Guarinos for a great meal and I will be back the next time I’m in the city …. Long live the red sauce joints ….. great job Guarinos and especially to...
Read moreI went to this restaurant as a last minute change of plans. I was originally going to go to the restaurant next door, but there was no parking and this place offered valet parking. I also decided to choose the restaurant because the Valet Driver informed me that this Italian Restaurant is over 100 years old. So I figured it had to be good food if this place has been around for that long. And OMG was I right! 😁 The food there was to die for! 🤤 I'm not even joking when I say I have never in my life tasted food that good! 🥰 And the whole atmosphere of the place was amazing! The place isn't very big but when you first walk in there is live music- people playing Guitar, Cello, Saxophone and other instruments. There's a beautiful bar to your left, and tables scattered all throughout the back. They even have these cute candles at every table! I brought my 3-year-old with me and my date to the restaurant, he was super fussy and acting like a typical three-year-old, but the staff were so helpful bringing him crackers and juice while we waited for our food. Oh let me also mention that they have an incredible menu, I highly recommend the Gnocchi with Grilled Chicken. Trust me when I say you won't be disappointed! Their wine is a 10 out of 10 and they also have a lasagna that mentions on the menu that it's a very old recipe and yes it's also very tasty! 🤤 This was probably one of the coolest nicest best tasting restaurant that I've ever been too, oh and I almost forgot to mention it was also affordable as well! What more could u ask for in a restaurant? This place has you covered! From the time you pull up till the time you leave, you're...
Read moreA quaint little restaurant in Little Italy, famous for being the first restaurant in Little Italy, it has a special place in my heart. They have accommodated me on special occasions, so I can say they do a great job of accommodating special occasions like Valentine’s day and anniversaries if you call a few weeks ahead. They have a nice indoor area with a small bar, a few couches, typical tables. The outdoor area is contained, but surprisingly spacious. They have heaters for when it starts to get a bit cool as well.
There is simple complimentary bread. The overall quality of the food is quite good. Its greatest appeal for me is as a date spot. It is a nice spot where many others are on dates, people enjoying their time meeting each other, interspersed between some families and platonic friends. The servers are nice, there is often live music, and the statues dispersed inside and outside are decorative. The theme fits and is consistent. A nice little break from everything, yet right in Little Italy and near Cleveland.
The wine selection is fairly broad and they have some classic Italian staples. Younger couples will find good food options that won’t be particularly expensive, but will not skimp on taste. So, there is always a good mix of people at Guarino’s, and a mix of generations as well. It is a nice wine spot, or drink spot, or dinner spot. Plus, they have their own parking lot, which is extremely convenient in Little Italy. You get access to that lot when you eat there. The restaurant gives access then to the rest of Little Italy, so the bakeries, or gelato, are a...
