My friends and I had dinner there last night. We arrived an hour earlier than we plannned following the advise of a worker. We called and they said they don’t take reservations for under 6 and some tables aren’t seated off the waitlist after 6:00PM. I saw a table of two arrive around 6:35 and they waited outside for awhile. They attempted to be seated an hour later when a table got up and our server told them no. They left visibly upset and annoyed.
Drinks and food were decent but the service was terrible. Our server disappeared for over 30 minutes so we had to ask others to help us. Half our drink orders did not come out. One of our guests did not receive a plate or silverware. She went to the bar for silverware but the roll up was missing a fork. Our server never offered refills and very directly kicked us out after we finished our entrees which we received 2 hours after we arrived (server issues, not kitchen). When our server was in view, she was texting near the kitchen instead of helping tables.
She asked if we wanted separate checks or one check and when we said to separate them, she told us it is easier to do one check and four cards. She also forgot what we ordered and had to come back to ask us what we had. She appeared to be under the influence of something and confused. I ended up leaving a 50% tip as we noticed the restaurant was closed (it closes at 8:00PM). Our meal was delayed and we weren’t able to enjoy more drinks because of our server but I worried that with the limited seating due to COVID that the servers maybe a part of a tip pool. I left additional money for their time. There were other tables there also as it was not late.
I’ve heard of Johnny Mango’s before and we attended on the suggestion of one of our MBA cohort members. It was extremely loud so we could not easily communicate. I will not return. I recommend you consider somewhere else to dine if you are in the area. Momocho is next door and the service and food...
Read moreThis was the worst dining experience I have had in recent years. I visited on a Sunday evening with my two young daughters, hoping for a casual, healthy meal. We arrived around 6:00 PM and were one of five tables occupied. We took some time to review the menu then ordered guacamole to start and our meals. The guac came out quickly, within 5 minutes...and that was the highlight of the night. We ordered two PB, jelly and banana quesadillas for our daughters, which took over 45 minutes to arrive. My wife and I did not receive our entrees (pad thai and cashew chicken salad) until after our daughters had finished eating. Being two and four, it is difficult to keep them entertained while dining out and they were incredibly patient waiting for their meals but were ready to leave as soon as they finished eating, while my wife and I were eagerly awaiting our food. Once it finally arrived, the noodles on my wife's pad thai were dry and overcooked and my cashew chicken salad was delivered with no dressing or cashews! I requested the missing items for my salad and was charged $.50 cents for dressing that was supposed to be included! My wife returned her entrée and requested a chicken burrito to go, for which we had to wait an additional 20 minutes. She did enjoy her burrito once we finally got home but we were extremely disappointed by the meals and overall experience. We do not have extremely high expectations when seeking out family-friendly dining options but this experience was a complete disaster. Maybe it would have been more enjoyable if we had a couple hours to sit around drinking margaritas but would not recommend for...
Read moreI just had lunch here with my mom. ( My mom and I are in the process of rekindling our relationship after some time apart. And we've gotten into the habit of getting together for lunch and reconnecting. )
What makes our lunch dates even more special is going to an estblishment with outstanding service and fresh food.
Johnny Mango was awesome! And it truly means the world to me that my mom and I are able to actually enjoy our time together while having phenomenal food and even better service. Our server Joe was such a sweetheart! I went to shake his hand and thank him for being so awesome, and I got a huge bear hug!! Which I loved! Then he hugged my mom! That was awesome! I could tell he cared. And we left feeling like we were family, not just patrons.
We could tell that all of the ingredients were fresh, clean, and displayed with pride. My pineapple margarita was one of the best I've ever had. It was literally handcrafted perfection at it's best. My mom's Mojito? WOW! That's the freshest hand picked mint I have ever tasted!! The food was hands down amazing! The dressings and meats were...well, words can't describe how fresh and light everything was!!
Joe? And Johhny Mango? Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart! You made a simple lunch with my mom sooo much more special than it already was = just by being pro's !!! And that's...
