Maybe ya'll will see my previous 5-star review...and it was basically hanging there for the past 6 months. But tonight? Tonight was way different...I go in the front door when I'm home, back door when I'm drinking at Edisons. I've never been told different, the crew knows me well, as I live on the property. It's all I've known for the 6 months I've lived here...
Tonight was different. I went to the little backdoor and rang the bell, and was told to come around to the front by a worker I've never seen before. I apologized and said I've never been told that before, and she insisted that's the way they've done it for the past year.
So I went back to the bar and thought, well, ok, I'll just order by text message like I've done before. I texted the same number I've relied on for 6 months: the one that checked on me when I had pneumonia, that checked for Christmas packages when I was at work, and the one I told had drinks waiting, from me, when they had a busy night. I was told that my order wasn't possible (half white/half red). I replied that I've done it many times, to be told that I could do it by the slice.
Ok, texting can be hard. Feelings can be misinterpreted, leading to misunderstanding. So I went in the front door and asked for half white/half red. I had looked in the window to start with, there were 2 white pies and 2 red pies in the window, with multiple pies in the oven. The lady at the register, who I had dealt with all night, told me I would have to "but by the slice".
I'm only upset because I've never had to do this before. I was always charged for the more expensive pie, and given 1/2 & 1/2. Instead, I was charged for each slice, nearly double the price of a pie.
I'm leaving Cleveland next week due to job change. I just wanted to pay it forward to the businesses around my little home in Tremont as a thank you for the friendships and kindness I've encountered in my 6 months here. Instead, I was met with a very cold, uncaring attitude and dragged over the coals monetarily. I've never eaten here on a Monday, so either avoid it on Mondays or just AVOID ALTOGETHER....
Read moreFear not pizza pilgrims, the Edison’s pizza experience is back and better than ever with the Il Rione team manning the pizza window.
Lil Ronnie’s vibe maintains the low key vibes of its former inhabitants, while serving up pizza worthy in a lineup of NYC slices. The menu is simpler fare than Il Rione. The pizza is foldable, greasy, and pure comfort. Yes, you can still get a whole pie here (a large one at that), but you can also get a slice of white pizza with arugula pesto and another slice of pepp with hot honey. Say less, amirite?
Ordering will take place through the front entrance for now until they figure out a way to get a point of sale system at the pub window, but they’re more than happy to deliver your pizza to the window when it’s ready (which was pretty quickly for the slices). And I mean happy - the staff is so pleasant and efficient that you wouldn’t know it’s the...
Read moreIs close to New York style. Is unique. New York style used Grande cheese, and is more greasy. Ronnie’s is clean, has a great fresh taste and the crust is crunchier. No grease but delicious. No drinks available due to an agreement with Edison’s next door, unfair if you ask me. Ronnie’s should be allowed to be as successful as any other pizzeria, they shouldn’t have to explain why they don’t serve drinks. Well worth the visit, personally their pizza is one of the best I have tasted, ever! If I was then I would move, they wil where, more so if they are given an equal opportunity as their competitors. I’m from Brooklyn, New York and I have tasted pizza all over the state. Try it, you won’t regret it and feel free to cater any event with...
