There’s something undeniably satisfying about watching your pizza crafted right before your eyes, and Citizen Pie nails that experience with its open-concept kitchen. It’s a simple setup, but incredibly effective it invites you in and makes you part of the process. Normally, I steer clear of vegetables on my pizza. But in a rare moment of culinary adventure, I gave in… and it was absolutely worth it. The blend of crisp vegetables with classic pepperoni hit a perfect balance, proving that even comfort food can surprise you. The pizza itself was a masterpiece of texture and timing. The oven melted the cheese to just the right consistency stretchy, golden, and bubbling and it came out piping hot, fresh, and full of flavor. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the owner. Warm, cheerful, and inviting, she welcomed us as if we were long-lost friends. Her presence made the place feel more like a home than a restaurant. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it’s what will bring me back again.

I have been looking for good or better pizza in CLE and Citizen Pie delivered. This is not the bulk quantity pizza you feed kids for a bday party like doninoes or costco this is high quality, fresh tasty pizza. We had a seat at the countertop bar and watched the pizza master spread out the dough, add toppings and slide a few pies into their legit wood fired pizza oven. Bam a few minutes later pulled these steaming pies out sliced em up and served it up nice show to watch btw. Crust is a 10, perfect. I like uneven dough edges slight crust to soft with a touch of char here and there. Ingredients are all high quality, sayce was perfect too not sweet. Really really great pizza!!

I love the food. The staff was pretty chill but attentive to be sure we love what we are experiencing. We ordered the New Yorker and I melted in my seat. If you want to travel to Italy without leaving Cleveland, go to Citizen Pie. The crust was crunchy outside and soft inside. And it's crunchy when you bite into it and the cheese stretch is šŸ‘ŒšŸ½šŸ‘ŒšŸ½šŸ‘ŒšŸ½. I will find my way back to get more pizza. Sorry, Papa John's, Pizza Hut, and Domino's. Citizen Pie is top tier for delicious and authentic Italian pizza. I recommend the New Yorker. šŸ˜˜šŸ¤ŒšŸ½ I would love for them to have more alcohol options like Smirnoff bottles or wine coolers. We had the White Claw.

My partner and I ordered two pizzas ahead of time before arriving at the 35 minute promise time. There's a large party and several people already seated, so when they tell us the order is not done, no biggie, we took a table and waited. We were told 5-10 minutes. 30 minutes past and several others are waiting, with staff calling out the names of orders. We listened for our name and it never comes up. We politely continue to wait, while others are served. Nearly an hour has passed, and everyone but us has been served. The staff begin packing up so I finally go to investigate and I am told that our order has been ready for a while. No one called it out while we waited.

I was assured the pizzas were still warm since they were sitting next to the fire, but luke warm was a more adequate description. The cheese had already congealed and the crust was not warm whatsoever and not the least bit crispy. The apology offered was halfhearted at best, casual, as if we had passed each other too closely in the aisle of a grocery store. I didn't want a refund or to be given flowers, but being brushed off was further irritating.

We reserve a lot of grace for our servers, and given how busy things were, we understand mistakes happen, which is why we didn't check further and tried to wait it out. However, we were in plain view with no food in front of us, and an order that someone had asked about was finished and left to sit around for what was anywhere from 40-50 minutes (if the initial 10 minute promise time was accurate) with no further investigation.

Will not return, hard to...

This past Saturday was my first time trying this place with a friend, I was excited to try it as it looked good but my experience was far from. I ordered the little Italy because it comes with Italian sausage and my friend got a build your own pizza with two chef salads. The pizzas came out quick so quick that they didn’t start to make the salads for around 15 min after, I was confused by this as I would of liked the salads first but whatever.. my friends pizza was missing the Barratta cheese that he ordered and when brought to the pizza maker’s attention he just scooped cold cheese piles on his pizza.. my little Italy pizza was missing the Italian sausage that I didn’t even notice because it was one of there specialty pizzas and I’ve never been before so I didn’t realize it while I was there, makes sense once I realized it as it was too plain. I emailed them with my issue and have had no response, for the price (over &50 w no drinks) there’s definitely better options in Cleveland. They missed other customers toppings while we were there and saw them act rude to the customers when they brought it to their attention. Disappointing first experience would not return or...

I visited this place for dinner this past weekend. Overall there was potential, but I personally did not enjoy the pizza. The service was good. The staff was friendly, helpful, and personable. But the pizza was just okay for me, and it was on the pricey side. We purchased two pizzas, one Red, one White.

It was a bit of a shame as the quality of the ingredients seemed quite good, but the pizza just wasn't. The dough recipe tasted good, the toppings seemed to be of good quality, the sauce was good, the fresh mozzarella was good (for example). But the pizza was just not balanced, and was not cooked properly. Except for the outer crust, the entire pizza was a bit under-cooked. And mixed with the heavy amount of oil across the whole pizza, the pizza simply fell apart, and did not have a good texture. Even folded in half, the pizza could not be picked up without falling apart. This is one of my favorite styles of pizza, so unfortunately this isn't a case of simply being unfamiliar with the style of pizza. But I hope that they figure it out, as it was a good experience (outside of the poorly cooked, and unbalanced pizza...) and I was happy to see the high-quality...
