Went to 354 steakhouse based or a referral and reviews. First it referred to me as very good Cuban restaurant. Compared to a very well known Cuban restaurant Las Palmas located in West New York NJ. I did further research and found out it was owned by Central Latino also very well established Cuban restaurant in WNY. So I was very excited to experience 354 steakhouse with my family. We arrived early on a Friday approx. 5 pm. The restaurant looks very nice on the outside even better in the inside. A very steakhouse feel very clean. There's a good size bar as soon as you walk in on the left. Not many people sitting at the bar at that time. But definitely seemed like a good bar to have a drink in. We were sat down promptly as there were only two tables being served at the time.
Waitress came took our drinks we ordered soft drinks. While we looked over the extensive menu. There was a lot of great appealing choices to order from. I was struck by some of the choices being they weren't Cuban dishes. But nonetheless they seemed delicious. Soft drinks arrived along with some bread. (The soft drinks were near their Flat stage minimal fizz if any on 2 different types of drinks). We asked our server about some of the options on the menu. He wasn't very knowledgeable or as knowledgeable as one would expect from a server about the dishes being offered. So we opted to order something on the safer side. Churrasco and breaded steak rice beans plantain mixed Avocado salad the typical Cuban sides. After awhile of waiting we needed our drinks refreshed. It took awhile to get the staffs attention as they were all huddled by the cash register along with the older lady that sat us. (Restaurant still semi empty) finally got their attention after calling and raising our hands to signal for service. They replenished our drinks and back to the huddle, club house or Charging station. Finally the food arrived. Presentation was good and appealing.
Churrasco: was smaller than other places of lesser classification. Texture was very rubbery and bland taste in it self. The attempt to hide it by putting garlic on top its just that....an attempt. (No where in the vicinity of Las Palmas or Noches de Colombia for that matter.
Breaded steak is hard to go anywhere and find a place that could hit it out the park. There are some but it's not a popular dish. It's was decent still no flavor unless one puts extra lemon and salt on it. I've had better...
Avocado I asked for the mixed salad with Avocado. Just got very ripe Avocado. Then had to go through all the attention getting charade to get oil and vinegar.
All other sides were good.
Service was way below average. It seems this place gets a lot of regular clients so they all have a relationship with the staff (which is awesome) for those clients. But for new comers it's a sour experience. Staff should be more attentive to service and detail as well as more knowledgeable of the menu. We will toss it up to a bad experience.
But as the saying Goes 1st time shame on you. 2nd time well there won't be one.
We wish 354 steakhouse...
Read moreHey there, fellow Bergen County folks! Just had to drop a line about my latest grub adventure at 354 Steakhouse over in Cliffside Park. Now, this ain't my first rodeo with 354, but let me tell you, they've still got it.
We went with the seafood paella and the porterhouse steak. The paella was bangin' – almost like what you'd find in Ironbound, but just a hair short. Still, top-notch stuff. But the real MVP? That porterhouse steak. Picture this: even after a ten-minute cruise home, it's sitting there, still perfect at medium rare. How do they do it?
But here's the kicker – and you'll get this if you've been around here – the takeout from 354 beats eating there, hands down. And we're talking steak and burgers, which usually lose their mojo by the time they hit your dining table.
Pick-up was a breeze. Called in, swung by, and bam, ready and waiting. Just how we like it in Bergen County – no muss, no fuss.
Now, let's rap about the bill. It's 354, so you know you're not hitting up a diner. But hey, just a heads-up: don't let your buddy order the priciest thing on the menu if you're footing the bill, alright?
Overall, I'm still stoked about 354 Steakhouse. The food's killer, especially if you're chilling at home. Just wish they'd step up their game for the dine-in crowd. We Bergen folks know good food, and we're always on the hunt for that next great meal. 354's got the goods – they just gotta bring that A-game to...
Read moreYour staff , in the absence of a manager present , clearly did not want to deliver my order and gave me the excuse that their tablet wouldn't turn on for the Uber Eats order ( 9 / 9 / 2022 around 9:27 pm ) and therefore they couldn't process the order. Now I don't know what kind of excuse that is , but I know it's a bad one. My suspicion is that your driver or drivers ( your own staff delivers the orders theough Uber Eats ) didn't want to deliver the order with it going through a full 33 minutes before the kitchen closing..... I had my feelings about this place , due to past experiences mind you , so naturally I called to make sure they would deliver it and that's how I got this information from the girl answering the phone . This is the third time where I have an order go through within the necessary time frame with them coming up with an excuse.
As I'm typing this right now ironically enough they were able to cancel my order on the Uber Eats App , but if the tablet won't turn on or can't turn on , then how is that exactly accomplished? You need better staff , this isn't the first time something such as this has happened .
As I said after I placed the order I had reservation to call. Now why did I feel that necessary?
I have a business myself and to cancel an order you need the tablet .
You need better staff that doesn't typify the stereotype if you understand...
