Amazing Food, Incredible place that you'll wanna come back over and over again. Me and my wife was planning to go else where but the place was closed so we just came here after doing a google search for sushi. I'm always skeptical of places that offers more than one type of food. Korean and Japanese is not a good sign. Man was I wrong. We spend less than $100 for top grade sushi and Kalbi. The decor isn't the best, the menu didn't look the best. But the food is spectacular. I never like cooked fish on my sushi. The chef brought us a free sample of a salmon sushi that was cooked and it was incredible. The kalbi was just the right tenderness that it fell off the bone but had a bite to it. The sushi was actually aged to the point where fish oil was dripping off the fish. You can see that in my photos. Shisho leaf is my nemesis, I hate it to death. But it paired so well with the sushi. The wasabi was fresh grind. All the free dishes was seasoned perfectly, we had to ask for a few more fish cakes and it was free. This is one of the best restaurant I've had in a very unlikely area in NJ. Highly Recommend this place, must try. We'll be...
Read moreI ordered the deluxe sashimi and it was absolutely melt in your mouth fresh. It was picked up as a phone order and the presentation was great.
Edit: Additional praise I love the fact that the ginger was high quality with no added red dye and the Wasabi was freshly grated from the fresh root rather than the typical concentrated mass produced stuff used by most lower quality sushi places.
As much as I appreciate the quality of the fresh fish, I am still looking for sashimi that is served with a variety of fresh seaweeds rather than on huge beds of daikon radish. Tomoe restaurant located on Thompson St in lower Manhattan used to serve their very high quality cut sashimi that way for decades until the Japanese owner retired recently. The new owners no longer maintain the high quality and now have become another lesser quality sushi joint. So I'm still on the search for one that is comparable to...
Read moreThis is regarding an order several months ago and I decided to leave a review. I ordered to go, but they forgot to give gochujang with Bibimbap. I called to ask for a refund, but they are reluctant to do so and asked me to go back to pick it up. It will be another 30 mins trip for me and I was hoping to eat my hot food when I got home with my pick up. I was very disappointed and I said I couldn’t do it and just needed a refund. The staff on the phone sounded very reluctant with a bad attitude but finally said yes. I never received my refund after all. The food is okay, but with this service, I will never come back.
Further reply: Restaurant replied saying their bibmbamp does not come with Gochujang. First, this is ridiculous. If you know Korean food, you will know Gochujang is kind of a key ingredient to bibmbamp. Second, if this is the case, their...
