Singh's Punjabi Dhaba — Restaurant in Clinton

Last Friday night, my wife and I visited Singh's Punjabi Dhaba for a late dinner. We started with a Mango Lassi, a creamy yogurt drink made from mango and served cold. For our appetizer, we ordered Onion Spinach Bhaji, which consists of onion rings with an Indian twist, tossed with seasoning and deep-fried.

For our main courses, we had Chicken Biryani—basmati rice cooked with chicken and spices—and Malai Kofta, which features homemade cheese and potato balls in a creamy sauce. We also added garlic naan bread to our meal. Everything was prepared fresh and arrived hot!

The staff was pleasant, professional, and courteous. The owner greeted us and even offered us a dessert to try: Gulab Jamun, which was absolutely delicious!

I took my son out for dinner here. He works on the Rock Creek Solar project South of Low Moor. I work with landowners on that project and Clinton County Wind. We love the Indian food we get back home in Cedar Rapids, especially goat curry with rice and naan. Our server helped us decide what to order and selecting a medium heat/spice level. She recommended an appetizer that hit the mark too. It was an Indian onion ring w/ spinach. We also had Chicken tikka masala. In both of our dishes, the meat was so tender it almost melted in our mouths. I liked the bones and fat left in for flavor but some may not like that. I also loved dipping the garlic naan in our sauces. We couldn't eat everything so took home a meal for the next day. Singhs Punjabi is now on our list for Indian food in...

Just had a great dinner here with my wife. The saag paneer was creamy and rich and you could tell they used high quality spices and ghee. The Special Lamb Kadhai was very tender and good, too. We also really liked the samosas and garlic naan. Don’t leave without trying their masala cha, it’s the real deal.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. C.J. Singh and his family are lovely and welcoming and take pride in serving his personal recipes with fresh ingredients....
