A MUST VISIT! I’m Fresno/Clovis born and bred 😅 I’ve never seen this Hidden Gem! Let me tell you HOW ECSTATIC I am to have found it! The moment we walked through the door, atmosphere was nice and calm, we were greeted right away with kind smiles. They have two sides, a bar side and a restaurant side, we chose bar since I was bringing my husband to the GREAT WHISKEY selection they offer here.
After being seated immediately, we came around 4pm, we were greeted by one of the sons of the owners, who is our server. His brother was bartending and parents (the owners) were preparing all the delicious foods in the kitchen. Our server, Omar, is personable & genuine and both brother were extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do, I absolutely love that! My husband was way too shy to order anything being that we’re beginners in the whiskey game but they guided us through and OH MY GOSH my husband’s world just completely expanded! I’ve never seen him so happy! Except for when he met me of course lol. Anyways, food came out and everything was soooo good! We ordered the Fruitti di Mare, Penne Carbonara, and Lasagna, all were sooooo delicious! And their FRESH BAKED HOMEMADE BREAD his mama whips up mmmmmm AMAZING!
We never give five stars! But here will be our first! Amazing staff, customer service, environment, decor, food and drinks! I love and appreciate their passion and drive! They have sooo many regulars too, by 5pm, which is only an hour after we arrived, the place filled up with regulars and voices and laughter overlapping one another, everyone enjoying this family owned restaurant for 22 years! I’m sad I’ve missed it this long, BUT SOOO HAPPY now that I’ve found it! Definitely plan on coming back! Will be one of our new favorite spots! Unfortunately we devoured the food before...
Read moreThe service was great, we were sat down very quick, we ordered mozzerella sticks, got the ultimate pizza, and the lasagna. On the side we got the salad and the italian wedding soup, the soup comes in a small bowl with crackers on the side and the salad is just your basic salad. The sticks came out in about 10 minutes and sad to say were very mediocre if not bad, they tasted like the ones you get in the grocery. The entrees came out in about 40 minutes which a bit long, and they both weren't to good, pizza was alright with no flop and a crunchy bottom but the taste was very very bland. The lasagna was (in my opinion) not very good. It was tasteless and very un-satisfying, it didn't have any bad after taste or anything, but it was just very boring, all together it cost me 88 dollars. In my opinion it is not worth it for either of those dishes, something like a basic pizza or such could be better but I left unsatisfied and very disappointed with the money I spent, but the servers were all down to earth and nice. I recommend going for a drink and...
Read moreSometimes you find a place worth an unsolicited review and multiple visits. Michelangelo's is just that place. The first impression is a welcoming and accommodating staff willing to ensure the customer are greeted and treated with respect. You can tell the restaurant is family-owned as they make you feel like part of the family when you walk in. The service is excellent and the food superb. We ordered a calzone (Calzone - Make it the Mo) and a pizza (Van Gogh) to try out their specialties (Credit to the Chef Omar, outstanding job). Both were by far the best we have ever eaten. The other surprising part of the restaurant is the drinks. Michelangelo's has by far the best collection of whiskey I have seen in a long time. Their bartender (Diego) created some great cocktails and let us try some assortments of whiskeys showing good knowledge of what he was serving. If you can find yourself in the Fresno area, stop by and experience what Michelangelo's has to offer. You will not be disappointed and are guaranteed to go again. It will become our...
