Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Clovis

I ordered a bunch of food for my family. No one told me at the counter that it was going to take nearly 25 minutes. The girl working the line packaged up the biscuits, fries and the 16 pc tenders, which sat on the counter for literally 15 minutes until the rest of the food was ready.

After 20 minutes of waiting, someone comes to the counter where I was standing and said "We are just waiting on the original chicken but it's going to take another 20 minutes". I told her that wasn't okay and they offered me spicy, which I took because I was already tired of waiting!

ANOTHER 20 MINUTES???? I've already been waiting 20 minutes and literally NO ONE told me it was going to be this long of a wait. They weren't even busy, literally may be 2-4 cars in the drive thru while I was there and maybe ONE other customer inside the store. .

When I FINALLY received my food, The chicken tenders were cold to the touch because they had been sitting on the counter for 20 minutes. I told the associate and she said "Yeah, that it's like that, sorry. You can call later and they can put your name down".

I said "For what, I just paid $78 for cold food and to sit here waiting for 25 minutes. and the Associate said "Yeah sorry, and shrugged"

She then gave me 1 bag for several boxes of food and I asked for another bag and she rolled her eyes at me. Then I had to ask for a 3rd bag and she rolled her eyes again. She also spilled BBQ sauce on me.

I have been a few times, and I feel confident enough to give an honest unbiased opinion. Even when they were super busy everyday I never waited too long for my food which has always been great. As far as the service I have HEARD Bad things, but for the most part my service is always decent, nothing to egregious there, however you do have one major gripe, and in fact my visit there today is tuebtrason I bring this up, everytime out of the 3 I have been there, they didnt have at least one thing I wanted, and Everytime it is just brushed off as an "oh well" by the person that prepares my order. For example today I wanted 2 strawberry biscuits and the guy said they were out and just handed me my order as if I didn't just pay for the item I requested, didn't even offer a replacement, and acted like he was being inconvenienced by me bringing it up🤷🏿‍♂️ the cashier did try to help out ended up taking a large drink. Yeah it was only $3+ but that's still money I paid, at least make an effort to make it right lol. I'm not gonna raise hell over it, I just hope they really improve on that area, I hope the owners and managers read these reviews because I feel like they could easily be a 4 or 5 star, if they just improve the customer service, because the food is already there. Update- 5/10/25 decided to give this place a Try one more time. First off we stopped and grabbed sonic chicken tenders and then chicken tenders from here. 😂 We went through the drive thru and right off the gal taking orders, she’s was awful and so rude. We were nice and ordered , but she truly gives this place a bad reputation for her manners and that way she presents herself for a business. We ordered chicken tenders with sides. Took the order and the sides were completely wrong. Never did get our dipping sauces. Sadly the chicken tenders from Sonic were much better. 😜 YEP, not coming back.

My wife and I in the last month have eaten at several Popeyes locations. One in Tucson Az and it was our first experience and it was amazing. The chicken was tender and moist and so delicious. Service was amazing. Second location was flying back and stopped in Vegas airport and ate again and was fantastic. We decided to try Clovis and sadly we don’t think we will ever be back again. My wife’s chicken nuggets were tiny, dry, and burnt. She didn’t even bother finishing. My chicken tenders were not so tender and juicy as the other locations. They looked like they were spare small chicken parts thrown together in bread crumbs. Hope the owners can get this place...
