Normally a great experience-- their sandwiches are usually great. However I took off two stars because my last experience was less than desirable. It took them 45 minutes to prepare my order, and they treated me poorly afterwards.
I placed the order through uber eats. Uber eats shows an animation that says "preparing order" until the establishment completes its preparation. This is when an employee at the restaurant is expected to notify uber the order is ready. Well this time, the employee neglected to notify uber.
I put this together myself and gave sequoia a call around 45 minutes after I placed the order. I politely asked about my order, catching the young man who had answered up with the details. At first, he said they had received no order from uber. I doubled down and asked if he was sure. He quickly changed his story and asked me by name-- They DID have my order. He put me on hold to ask his manager about something. He came back and told me uber should be picking up my food soon.
At this point I asked him point blank if they neglected to notify uber. He hesitated and admitted that this was the case, but quickly attempted to displace blame onto some other unknown employee.
I asked him if he thought my sandwich was going to still be in okay condition after sitting so long. He assured me yes tersely. I ended the call.
This situation was mishandled. If the gentleman had been more forthcoming with me about their mistake, I wouldn't be writing this review. They should have made me a new sandwich.
The restaurants I worked in when I was younger trained me to typically offer the customer even more than that when mistakes like...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor a localish chain sandwich shop, this Sequoia Sandwich Co. hit it out of the park for me. As a business jet pilot, I occasionally need to provide our passengers with some meal options, and I like to provide them with local options.
I placed my order online around 1120 on May 8. Originally requesting the order be complete by 1230. Well, my coworker wanted to leave a little sooner, so at the end of the order I asked if they might be able to have the order done by 1215. This included 5 sandwiches, 3 salads, some giant cookies, brownies, fruit cups and chips. I thought I might have to wait that extra 15 minutesā¦which was fine if need be, BUT this team came through for us. And the order was ready by 1210!
Our passengers devoured their sandwiches and salads, enjoyed some fruit cups and desserts by the time we hit FL410 (41000 feet, our cruising altitude). The peppered turkey, roast turkey and cajun turkey (my choice) were all favorites. As were the cobb, bbq chicken and some other salad.
Thanks for coming along for our ride Sequoia, you gave me the fuel (along with a Kuppa Joy cold brew coffee) to navigate home safely.
Also, thank you to the manager for wishing me Godās blessings. I wish the same for you and your employees and guests...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is highly over-rated and I wouldn't recommend to anyone. I would say instead, go to Sam's Deli or Gino's instead, which both are SUPERIOR to this dump.
I ordered a Philly Steak and Cheese. It tasted like microwaved dried out meat with hardly any bell peppers, cheese or onions. They dont put any (or was I asked if I wanted any) condiments like the STANDARD mustard & mayo on this Sub at all, which leave your mouth dry as the Mojave Desert. Really??? I guess, this is how they SAVE money.
After now just checking the menu before I wrote this review, I was supposed to get their "special red sauce on the side" in my to-go bag. Must be SAVING MONEY again. Luckily I took mine back home and as I love Ketchup on my Philly Steak & Cheese, and also added, here we go again COST SAVING "JALAPENOS" and 1/2 of an Avocado.
My bottom line...will I go back? Hell no, you can have it and I will save my money...
