India Palace — Restaurant in Cockeysville

Just an unbelievably delicious meal! Crispy papadum and delicately fried vegetable pakora led off and set our expectations high. Succulent tandoori chicken was outstanding- tender, juicy and both dark and light meat were moist and individually spiced. Marinated onions and peppers accompanied the tandoori and were also infused with yet another cascade of flavors. Lamb shiskabab was barely charred, lending a nice counterpoint to the most interior. Chicken korma had a rich, velvety traditional sauce which cooled off the subtle but unmistakable heat from some other dishes, particularly the flavorful chickpeas in a wonderfully complex sauce. We doubled down on lamb, enjoying a lamb curry that highlighted the tender lamb chunks to perfection, bringing out a whole new range of flavors in the lamb. All this was accompanied by un-sticky rice and a light yet dense and chewy naan which we enthusiastically used to mop up the phenomenal sauces. Not the fanciest room, but black tablecloths and starched goldenrod napkins contrasted nicely with richly colored walls adorned with traditional art. We were there around 630 PM, and enjoyed the attentions of attentive waitstaff and host who enhanced our experience by describing the preparation of some of the dishes. This place is a gem; delicious food, reasonably priced, wonderful staff and adjacent to what appears to be an extensive market supplying traditional ingredients. Can't wait to explore both on...

Go to Cafe Spice instead, this place is sorely lacking in cuisine and service. Actually the food is really not that great at all. Plus my last delivery order I payed for over the phone. When the driver finally arived, 2.5 hours later because they misplaced my order and when I called they were totally confused...but it did arrive eventually...cold. Oh yeah and the driver then told me they never collected payment even though I went through the credit card payment twice over the phone. So I gave him my information again and before he left my house he said everything was settled. But it's not the end! I got a call an hour later from the manager and said they never received the payment, that the credit card information was lost and for me to please give it to them again (by now the 4th time) - So I hung up and reheated my food in the microwave and only enjoyed it because I was absolutely famished.

Just go to Cafe Spice, I'd give them 10 stars but...

I made an unfortunate decision to visit this restaurant. The owner was terribly rude to us and provided us with an awful service.

While we were at the restaurant, there was a family of 4 that came in with a coupon, and half of our dinner consisted of yelling between the family and the owner. Apparently the coupon could only be used for dinner, although it was no where stated on the coupon. At the end, the family walked insulted and embarrassed by the owner. The owner clearly doesn't care about his customers or his stores reputation.

The amount of food served is minute compared to what other restaurants provide you for that price. The overall taste even lacked spices and flavor of an authentic Indian restaurant.

Clearly the owner doesn't care about anything else other than money.
