Alright. I gave this location 3 tries, a month or so apart. July, August, September. 1st time, got our order wrong, and that was after waiting in line for 10 minutes (2 people ahead, above average wait time for fast food) and then it was an easy 10/15 minutes until we got the food. And and I don't know if it's their recipe, or qaulity, or even if it's just the person that made them that day for us, I just couldn't like the tacos. Tasted kind of old, and drier than anticipated. 2nd time, it was faster, the qaulity was a little better, but they got the order wrong again. Annoying, but I work in the industry, it happens, and it could be due to a dozen different reasons. It's food service. The 3rd time was the noose. Around 8pm, I stop here to get my husband dinner. Lobby is empty. 2 cars in the drive thru when I pulled up. I go in and there's a tall-ish guy, leaning, arms folded. I walk up and begin looking the menu over. He says nothing, I ask about what's in an item, he had to ask. (Could've been new) Apparently content my question was answered, he leans over the counter/register, hands on his cheeks (that bored look we get sometimes) and says nothing for a few minutes. I decide, and give him my order. The only thing he said to me during the exchange, was my total. No for here or to go. No order repeat. No what can I get you. Didn't offer receipt. (I asked for it) Didn't tell me my change. Just, zero acknowledgement. I waited 10 minutes for a non combo, dinner for 2 amount of food. And when my order was up, and bagged, it was set on the counter while I was refilling my drink, 5 feet away, and he didn't even tell me my food was up. Bag just sat open. (It sounds minor, I know, but I'm a busy dude and it's a rarity sometimes I get to eat my food while it's still hot.) Food service sucks. The jobs typically don't pay well. You gotta deal with some terrible people sometimes. This location needs to do something different. Minimal effort here. If I have any choice in it, I...
Read moreThis begins my series of milkshake reviews. A few years ago I discovered how much I absolutely LOVED milkshakes after an orgasmic experience with a marshmallow milkshake from Paul Bunyan. Since then, I've been trying every milkshake I can get my hands on, strawberry, as often as I can, to ensure consistency, as it is common and a flavor I enjoy.
While Del Taco is far from the first shake I have examined as carefully as I do, it is the first for which I have thought to put my experiences with into writing, so please enjoy!
At first sip, it is easy to tell this milkshake doesn't really "follow the meta." In comparison to other popular chain milkshakes, it is extremely runny. I hated it at first as it reminded me strongly of my McDonald's milkshake experience (my second worst milkshake experience to date) with its runny, chunky texture. Not really at all what should be expected from a traditional milkshake.
As I continued, however, the shake really did grow on me. While it was runnier than I would have expected, it was still plenty thick enough to be considered well within milkshake territory. This, combined with the chunkiness of the real strawberries made for an extremely enjoyable sucking experience. The thinness of the shake required very little work to suck up, while still thick enough to deliver the milkshake's characteristic thick pleasure. And the real strawberries were no downside (though I myself do prefer fake strawberry flavoring for its consistent texture, Del Taco's strawberry chunks weren't annoyingly large).
All in all, while more traditionally thick, consistent shakes are still my go-to, if you're looking for something a bit different and are in the mood for something that flows a bit more easily through your straw, then Del Taco's shakes have nothing against them. And at $1 for their rather large "mini" shakes, they shoot right to the top of my...
Read moreI'm changing my review, my previous review was rather unflattering for this establishment. Which is quite unfair as it was a short sighted review based solely on a unique time in our countries history where workers are scarce, and frankly, This Del Taco has almost always been the Best Del Taco I had ever experienced across the country. To be fair, they have always made the items better than any other Del Taco I have gone to, they were usually more than generous with sauces, with their positive energy and their smiles. I shouldn't have been so quick to take a short term issue with the service industry to such heart. To amend my previous comments, I must say that the other evening following my negative experience I had tried this Del Taco one more time, and to my surprise the entire family was working, they had literally all of the family that owns it working their rear ends off to accommodate the massive line of huge orders that had come to them. We were rudely told at the Taco bell down the street that "sorry we know you waited in line for 20 minutes prior to closing, but we just can't make anything else tonight", and this is why we tried Del Taco again. Upon getting to the window at Del Taco the young lady was not only pleasant, but they made Every item perfectly, they didn't forget a single item and they were very happy doing so. I will definitely continue to give this Del Taco my business from this...
