I made the colossal mistake of purchasing two $50 tickets for what was supposed to be a classy New Year’s Eve celebration at Cliché Restaurant & Wine Bar. The name certainly fooled me because what I experienced was the antithesis of class. From start to finish, this event was an unmitigated disaster.
First, upon arrival, the "establishment" didn’t even have enough chairs for the tables they were actively selling for the event. My party and I stood awkwardly at the entrance as staff scrambled to locate chairs as if they’d forgotten they were hosting a paid event. Strike one.
Then, the wait for service began. We sat at our table for over 20 minutes without so much as a glass of water, let alone drinks or food. When we finally managed to order from a waitress, we were handed a drink menu (after explicitly asking for a food menu), only for her to pull up the food options on a screenshot on her phone. Yes, you read that correctly—no printed menus, just a blurry phone screen.
The incompetence continued. Despite ordering promptly, we waited an eternity for our drinks and meals, which ultimately never arrived. No silverware was provided, no one checked on us, and the three waitresses who I saw spent most of the evening wandering aimlessly, glued to their phones. Their priorities were clear—this was not about service but about catering to the so-called $1,500 VIP area upstairs, where the actual “party” seemed to be happening. For those of us who dared to pay less, it was as if we didn’t exist.
The promoters, who reeked of weed and seemed more interested in filming themselves for social media than ensuring the event ran smoothly, were the final nail in the coffin. This entire affair was a disorganized, money-grubbing cash grab. There was zero management presence, and the atmosphere was anything but festive.
This was not the elegant New Year’s Eve celebration I had envisioned or seen on Eventbrite; it was a chaotic, unprofessional, poorly executed nightmare. I’ll be disputing the charge and filing a chargeback because this was nothing short of theft.
If you value your money, time, and dignity, stay far away from this place. Don’t let the name fool you—Cliché Restaurant & Wine Bar is nothing more than a façade for a disorganized, hood affair with service so bad it borders on non-existent. Save yourself the heartache and look elsewhere for a truly memorable evening.

I recently hosted my first birthday gathering at Cliche Tapas and Bar, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience! The ambiance was spot-on for a "grown and sexy" vibe, offering an inviting and cozy atmosphere that made everyone feel welcome. I reserved the second-floor patio area for my 15-30 guests, and it provided the perfect setting for a relaxed yet elegant celebration.
One of the highlights of the evening was being greeted personally by one of the owners, Alexis, who not only wished me a happy birthday but also offered me a complimentary drink, adding a special touch to the night.
The food and drinks were exceptional, with a menu that my family and friends thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered the lobster egg rolls and lamb chops, and both dishes were absolutely flawless--beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and perfectly cooked. Later, we headed to the third floor for some dancing, where the DJ made the night even more special with birthday shout-outs and a selection of R&B tunes that kept us on our feet.
The customer service was simply outstanding. Our servers, Chance and ALL the other ladies were incredibly professional and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. Their attentiveness and helpfulness made the evening even more special, and I truly appreciated their efforts in making my birthday a memorable and enjoyable experience.
Overall, Cliche Tapas and Bar exceeded my expectations in every way. From the chic ambiance to the delicious food and top-notch service, it was a win from start to finish. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to...
Read moreWe attended a friend's birthday gathering on the rooftop on a Sunday afternoon. The parking was extremely limited, but we waited for 5 min and a spot opened up. We were greeted and told how to get to the rooftop. Unsure if elevators were available, but we took the steps. The decor on the entry level was classy and sophisticated (see pics). Unfortunately, the rooftop was not as posh with poorly hung artwork and peeling paint. The ventilation seemed appropriate for smoking.
The service was limited for the size of the gathering. Unfortunately, it took over an hour to get our drinks; 2 hours to get our food. There were no TVs (to be installed this week), so most patrons had their phones watching football. The first dish to arrive was their brunch specialty omelet. Unfortunately, it was luke warm, but tasty. Both the fish and grits dish and the crabcake dish arrived hot and both were very savory.
The menu had a few errors; see pics below. The specialty drink we ordered arrived in a super sticky glass that made it difficult to enjoy. My seat neighbor used his napkin to take sips 😆! I snapped a pic of another patron who received a bucket of warm beer unopened and without ice. The look on his face is the best description of our overall opinion of this establishment.
