I think there could be many improvements made to this teahouse to make it authentic and consistent. My friends and I had ordered a Chicken Katsu bento box, a popcorn chicken bento box, Biang-biang noodles, cajun fries, spicy edamame, and a red velvet matcha latte with boba.
+The Chicken Katsu Bento Box and Popcorn Chicken Bento Box- both unfortunately had over-cooked rice and soggy steamed spinach that looked like it had been sitting out the whole day. The chicken katsu was overcooked and under-seasoned, the popcorn chicken was pretty dry and flavorless with a lack of salt and the sauce on top had coagulated which tasted very cheap and was kind of concerning because it was only liquid for a good 5 minutes. The Bento Boxes were 12ish dollars and it really seemed like it had just been thrown together so it was disappointing and not worth more than 9 dollars. We were also originally served wrong with just the popcorn chicken without rice or spinach and had to ask for our original order.
+The Biang-biang noodles - were cooked well, BUT drenched in pretty tasteless oil. I would suggest investing in a better chilli oil. We were warned that it would be very very very spicy but it was very underwhelming and tasted like subpar chilli oil. We had chicken with it but that was also dry.
+The cajun fries were good! Served hot and good seasoning.
+The spicy edamame however was also disappointing. The actual edamame fell apart multiple times before we could eat it so either it was very overcooked and soggy or it was sitting out all day. The "skin" should not be peeling off like that. This also used the same chilli oil and did not taste like much. It tasted like I was eating plain and soggy edamame. We were also not served with an extra plate or bowl to keep the "skin".
+The Red Velvet and Matcha latte was subpar. The actual boba pearls were inconsistent. It was either falling apart and mushy or difficult to chew. The flavor was decent overall but the red velvet overpowered the matcha flavor. For reference, I have been to the entirety of Bellaire Chinatown, Katy Asiatown, and visited almost every boba shop in Houston and gone to many other shop in other cities as well so I know what pearls should taste like.
Overall, the reviews seem to be written by those who don't have asian food enough to know what it should taste like, people who have very very low spicy tolerance or have incredibly different taste than my friends and I do. For reference, we are asian. In terms of the place itself, it is a cute shop, has lots of games, can seat a good 20-25 people comfortably, and has nice wall decor/funny meme posters as well. I will probably give the boba another chance as it could have been an off day but I'm not too sure about the food. Hope this...
Read moreI've been here twice now, once on a whim when I was in the area. I'm a big fan of boba and tea itself; I actually make my own boba from scratch at home and collect tea from around the world, so I know what good tea is when I taste it, and I know good boba as well. First thing I noticed is the extensive and creative menu. There's everything you could possibly want on it. I got the white grapes oolong with mango crystal boba and 1/2 sweetness the first time. It was exceptionally good. So much so that when my family came to visit, I had to make sure they tried this place.
I decided to get a more elaborate drink this time even though I'm usually more of a "boring" drink kind of person and got their signature creme brulee cake milk tea. Oh my gosh. The milk tea is rich and strong. The boba is perfectly chewy. I got it half sweet and it was perfect. But best of all? It came with a literal creme brulee on top! Bruleed and all! I also got a little bear mousse cake because it looked so cute. My family tried a wide variety of drinks, and they all liked them despite being pretty picky themselves. I will definitely be returning here regularly.
Everything is clearly being made with a lot of care and attention here. You can see and taste it. The staff are very pleasant and friendly. I don't know for certain, but based on the tastes and the appearance as well as witnessing the store receive a shipment of fresh ingredients while I was there, I would guess they are making most if not all of the components from scratch.

Read moreThis place is one of the best places to ever exist. When I first came in, the menu had me in shock. There were so many items that I didn't believe were real in this cruel world we live in (e.g. Red Velvet Shake, Creme Brulee Cake Milk Tea, and many more). Every item lives up to my expectations (which are already high) and even more. When I had the Creme Brulee Cake Milk Tea with boba and mango popping boba it was so good I felt like I didn't deserve it. The Red Velvet Shake was phenomenal as well. When ordering the Bunker Crack Spicy Noodles, I didn't think they'd be crazy based on the picture, but I have utmost trust in this establishment. They ended up being very spicy and flavorful and further proving this place's abilities. I have also got the Rose Milk Tea which had a very cute, nice, unique and high quality flavor. Not only does this place have top notch quality, the items are also unique. I want to keep coming back and trying new things here. This establishment truly could not be better. I would move to College Station just to have access to it. This establishment singlehandedly increases the quality of life in the area. The prices they ask for are also very fair for the quality. I would lose respect if they asked for less money, but I am glad they do not go higher. This is an exemplary business as they really make me want to give them my money.
