The portions here are very generous. We ordered the steak fajita tacos and an order of ground beef nachos supreme. The service was very fast, even though the restaurant was pretty busy and it was nearing the end of their business day. The chips are made fresh in the store. They ran out while we were there, but since it was still so busy, they made more and the fresh chips were everything you could possibly ask for in a tortilla chip: hot, crispy, salty... Yummm! The accompanying salsa was also delicious, not too spicy, but very flavorful and served warm. The nachos arrived first and were flavorful and saucy. The toppings were very generously portioned and we used extra chips to scoop up the extra toppings. The tacos were contained in a medium sized tortilla, maybe about an 8" tortilla and they were stuffed with beef, grilled onions and grilled peppers. The beef was delicious, some of the best tasting fajita tacos in BCs. Location is a little out of the way, but will definitely return for this delicious food!

We have come here several times and for the first while, it was awesome. Recently their quality has declined heavily, and today their $5 Migas tacos were all tortilla strips in the middle. $20 wasted on fried tortilla strips in a tortilla with a piece of egg and a few tiny diced bell peppers.

Food is good but more often than not my order is wrong. See picture, supposed to be a beans, rice, chorizo, and egg taco. Instead I get beans and rice only. *update* opened second taco which was supposed to be beans, rice, EGG, and potato. There’s no eggs!

In a world of takeout/drive thru experiences (no stranger here) different elements offer variables to ponder. La Familia is one of my favorite restaurants in town. The owners are amazing community minded people that strive for the highest quality of food and service. With that said nothing is perfect, and I say this because mother nature can influence the outcome... I am envious of the staff's reaction on a particular occasion. The wind whipped two dollar bills (change back to me) airborne during our exchange of hands on a recent visit. I wish I could have laughed as the staff person did but my reaction was of course, one of shock. On a brighter note, she did ask if I wanted her to pick it up. Since this was a particularly busy day and not wanting to delay the cars behind me, I declined. Maybe it was destiny for those dollar bills to fly freely in the wind for someone else to find. Moral- laughter is an emotional release, one too often taken for granted (especially during our new...

edited to add* The owner is almost always here because she cares so much about quality in this family owned restaurant. They don't charge outrageous prices which keeps us coming back several times each week. (try a chorizo, potato and jack cheese taco - you WON'T be sorry!) Things aren't free here, but you wouldn't expect them to be - they have to cover costs. She isn't a chain restaurant and you wouldn't walk into one and expect free stuff anyway really...She does love her regulars and knows them by name. When we dine in we see her walk through and check on people personally. It is nice. It makes it feel more like the small town where I grew up. We have only been here for breakfast but they have really good breakfast tacos. The employees are always nice and we have never had bad service.

Try this place, if you don't like it try it again... You were just having...
