McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in College Station

McAlister’s never disappoints. I’ve been hitting up the one on University for a while, and finally checked out the newer spot. The place was nice and clean, which is always a win. Spoiler alert: it’s just as good as the original.

We rolled in on Free Tea Day and did not hold back. My family went full tea mode with enough refills to keep us buzzing for a week. The girl at the register was a saint, patiently handling a line of thirsty people and our tea frenzy like a pro.

For food, I ordered the 12 inch Spicy Turkey Melt with broccoli. Let me tell you, it was ridiculously good. The bread toasted like a dream, the veggies fresh and crunchy, and the melted cheese? Absolute perfection. My wife got a sandwich and a loaded baked potato, and she didn’t say a word while eating. That silence means one thing: she loved it.

The kids went for pizza and pretzel dog bites, and we splurged on the mac and cheese. Big mistake. That mac and cheese was more like a cheesy soup, with cheese so runny it could’ve been a new dipping sauce. The boys weren’t fans, but the pizza and pretzel dogs vanished quickly.

All in all, we will definitely be back. Especially when the next Free Tea Day...

Love love love coming here with my grandmother when I visit college station. The food is amazing and fresh; however my most recent encounter was a little strange. The (I’m assuming new) blonde, white, and on the short side girl was a tad disrespectful towards myself and elderly grandmother. I didn’t catch her name, but she was ill mannered and lacked customer service— she also had hickeys all over her neck (which yes, isn’t my business, but it’s not exactly professional). My husband and I were traveling and stopped at the McAllister’s Deli in College Station off 6. We got our order to go.

My husband ordered The New Yorker and wow! It was piled full of meat - he said his sandwich was fantastic - definitely for the meat lover.

I ordered the get 2 (still haven’t eaten part of my meal - the Black Angus club). I ate the other part which was the spud max. Overall it was good but wish I had a little salt for the potato (which was not in the bag). Really I’d give the food a 4.5 the quality was good and...
