Starbucks - Hwy 6 & Rock Prairie (College Station)
This already is becoming one of my favorite locations, and it’s only my first time visiting. Naomi, did a wonderful job helping me.
The baristas are so amazing and get your order promptly. And the staff don’t mind spiking up a conversation with you. Naomi, did a wonderful job helping me with my order. I asked Naomi, “Did you guys recently renovate? It looks exceptionally clean!” She confirmed with her manager, “We actually renovated four years ago, (2021).”
Located not too far from Baylor Scott & White Hospital, making it ideal spot for patients and medical professionals. It’s also, located not far from Costco. Outside area offers good size parking lot.
Covered Patio is very large with plenty of seating, making this not your typical Starbucks experience. You will find eight tables and eighteen chairs. Furniture pieces are all spread out making it ideal for large groups.
Once you step inside, it’s actually pretty cool space, as well. It’s designed with open plan, yet somehow, you feel you’re in several different rooms, throughout. By the Mobile Order Pick-Up area, you’ll find large open space. It offers seven tables and ten chairs by large windows, overlooking into the large covered patio.
There’s an additional large space. By the entrance, offering five grande, comfortable leather chairs on the corner of two large windows. Allowing natural lighting flow inside while you enjoy your stay.
Also, there’s a large, conference sized table with chairs, making it a perfect space for a remote location for work, or family game times. Restrooms offer very spacious layout, making it easier for people with disabilities.
They do an amazing job being kind and helping you recommend a perfect pairing with your order. If you want a modern, elegant and clean space to study, work or relax, I highly recommend this location. I’m looking forward...
Read moreThis location is NOT it. I went here for all of two days while the WDF location was closed for repairs. It was the complete opposite experience from WDF. There the staff are SOO sweet and friendly, to the point where they remember my custom drink without even having to say my name. It’s just always a pleasant experience there. Let me tell you about my two experiences with Rock Prairie: Tuesday: the guy taking my order kind of had an attitude the entire time like I was inconveniencing him. There was also a semi truck parked by their drive thru and I kept having to repeat myself so I asked if he would like me to pull up, and he was like “ma’am I can hear you..” like okay sorry jeez. I get to work and realize he also didn’t take half off of my drink since it was Tuesday. So Wednesday. I mentioned how my drink wasn’t half off and asked if it could be corrected by just taking it off today and he was like “it’s Wednesday today” and I was like “yes I’m aware but it wasn’t taken off yesterday” and “it’s certain drinks” and I was like “I get the same order?” then they were like “well you have to ask for it” and I explained I didn’t have ask for it at WDF and they were like “well we usually put people we’re training at the window so that’s why” and they wouldn’t honor it. I ended up going to a different coffee shop until WDF reopened because RP is just not the vibe. WDF is back open and it’s literally a completely different experience. I told them how much I missed them because clearly they have me spoiled because RP ain’t it and they told me a few people have mentioned that already so it’s not just me. If you want great, friendly, accommodating, sweet staff who don’t gatekeep discounts just drive the few mins to WDF. The two stars are only given because they didn’t mess up the actual drinks, just...
Read moreIf you can avoid this location during peak hours (before 7 AM and after 4 PM), it is a decent place for a coffee. Be sure to visit this location when the college students are asleep, partying or on vacation, and you will be Pleasantly surprised! Visit on a Tuesday while classes are in session at your peril.
While university classes are in session, everything that can be bad, is. Drive-thru (assuming it is not closed/broken) is a horror. Folks will try to enter it from 3 different directions and will jam traffic in the shopping center for 30 minutes or more multiple times every day. The inside will be filthy until enough staff can be freed to make a dent in the amount of trash left in the dining area. Granted they are always too short staffed to wipe down tables or empty the receptacles and the inside is grubby, but some employees do try. Bring your own Clorox wipes if you want to dine-in, and know that every table is crooked, warped or broken from college students sitting on top of them. Throughout the morning, there will be few seats available. Headphone technology has yet to reach many patrons, so you will get to listen to multiple online discussions, but at least free learning opportunities abound.
There is no Starbucks west of the Mississippi and south of I-40 that is worse than this location when busy.
TL;DR- avoid the college students for a (poorly furnished) corporate...
