Came in with my family and have been planning a dinner out with all of us together. We are big fans of Carrabbas. Especially when it comes to their signature bread and herbs they provide. We get seated and they provide a very unique highchair that is built for baby car seats. So everything so far was charming and organized. Our table happened to be the only table without olive oil which was weird because we did have to wait for our table to be “set up”. I just grabbed one from a table behind us. Service was quick but forgetful and random. Asked for more herbs as well as the bread once we put in all of our orders. It was 3 adults and a child who all love this complementary appetizer. We quickly ran out before putting our order in. Bread never came neither did the herbs. As we got our entrees was the only time our waitress asked if we needed more bread. I responded yes even though I had already asked before but didn’t want to make a big deal. I let that one go because as stated it is complimentary. When the 2 of us ordered the soup and the other adult, a salad, we were somewhat confused. As another waitress was letting us know they were both chicken soups, one was drastically different from the other. One had more noodles, chicken, and veggies and the other seemed to look like it was chicken broth with some noodles, chicken and veggies. I didn’t mind a brothy soup with less substance and the other didn’t mind more noodles and the works. We just found it odd that they didn’t find it weird either. Soups that obviously look very different from each other but were the same and still sent out to serve. Again nothing to really complain about and worked out in the end. I always felt this restaurant was very well put together and might’ve just been falling off their high expectations. I overheard our table to the right of us ask for more sauce for their entrees which I found to be weird at first and they were probably just being problematic. Upon receiving our entrees they lacked sauce and presentation was lacking. Lobster ravioli / sauce was on the button, ravioli dumped on the plate, and tomatoes were on the side. Side Alfredo / lacked sauce tremendously, tried stirring from the bottom to top but did it no justice, and couldn’t be any dryer than old...
Read moreIt used to be a great restaurant, but every time I come here the service gets just a little worse, and the food a little lower quality. They seem perpetually understaffed in literally every regard, from kitchen staff, to whoever should be cleaning bathrooms, the serving staff etc; to the point that all of their staff comes off as uncaring and short-tempered, leaving dirty plates and containers on your tables indefinitely and rarely offering a refill.
Food for the entire table was served cold, or room temperature at best today, after a very, very long lunchtime wait. Among the two of us who ordered ribeyes, one cut of meat was inedibly gristly and fatty, nigh impossible to cut, and the other -- while ordered medium rare -- was literally cold and purple in the middle. Another one of us ordered the salmon, and it was cooked to the point of having zero color left, yet still somehow managed to be served room temperature. The zucchini fritte appetizer was also a soggy, grease-laden mess — as if slowly soaked in oil that wasnt hot enough, instead of actually being fried.
The ambiance was regular corporate italian. Pleasant enough lighting and such, but for some reason they had the temperature so low today, you could've hung freshly butchered meat from the decorative trellis and expected it to keep like it were in an icebox.
Additionally, while I almost never drink while eating out, it should be noted that Carabbas charges you a full extra tax on all alcoholic beverages, that is normally paid by the restaurant, that other restaurants do not charge you, on top of the already hugely inflated price. Expect to pay $30 - $40 if you want like two glasses of cheap wine. It’s an outrage even for people accustomed to restaurant drinking prices, and I’ve overheard other patrons raging about it.
For what you pay to eat here, id recommend quite literally anywhere else in Collierville, if you don't want to leave feeling like you paid over $100 for a really poor experience and unappetizing food. The entire table agreed we probably wont be back after today, and we at one point were extremely regular customers,...
Read moreA great restaurant to eat out at. We were served as soon as we came in and did not have to wait at all. They gave us our beverages, (Diet Coke, Lemon Water, and a Strawberry Lemonade) in a short amount of time. Then, we were served two loaves of bread with two servings of herb seasoning dips, along with two sides of Caesar salads, and a plate of 4 soft, warm, sauteed mushrooms stuffed with Italian sausage and topped with Parmesan, Ricotta and Mozzarella cheese. The loaves were fresh, warm, and soft. The herbs were also fresh and full of flavor. Our entrees, (A Mid-Well 10 oz Tuscan Grilled Sirloin with Sauteed Broccoli and Sauteed Spinach, and the second entree being a Fettuccine Weesie.) The steak was fresh, and cooked just right. It was soft, tender, and very flavorful. The broccoli and spinach were fresh, warm, and had a good amount of seasoning to them. The fettuccine weesie had shrimp, pasta, mushrooms, cream sauce, and of course, fettuccine. The pasta had a good amount of seasoning and the shrimp was very good. When we were leaving, we asked for another loaf of bread and another cup of herb dip. They surprisingly gave us two loaves of bread, and two cups of herb dip with no extra charge. Everything about this restaurant is great. The service was quick and nice, the restaurant was sanitary and very organized. The tables come with sea salt, pepper, and olive oil, along with well cleaned utensils and napkins. And again, the servers were very nice and gave us another refill of diet Coke without us even asking. The whole experience at this restaurant was very pleasant, from the servers, the restaurant's many items such as televisions, seasonings, and utensils. The servers make sure you are enjoying your experience and food, and make sure everything is just right for you. The restaurant has a very wide selection of food, drinks, and dessert on their menu to pick from. My experience there was excellent, and I recommend you go there to see...
