Dante's Pizza & Grill — Restaurant in Colonial Heights

We were the only table in the restaurant when we ordered. Waited a while for our appetizer, guy brings it over, no plates. They managed to mess up my food not once, but twice. Ordered a tuna sub and onion rings and they kept trying to give me a turkey sub and fries. We ordered pizza from the children's menu and they brought out 2 huge slices of an XL pizza on a hot pan for our 4 year old. Ordering from the children's menu you expect children's portions on an appropriate plate for a child. Counted 6 people working there and for some reason they had 2 people serving us... the only table. Watched the guy making food walk around eating before making my correct order and watched another employee walking around moving large trays of fruit and snacking off them. Waitress tried to make several excuses and said no manager was working. Definitely won't...

Without a doubt, Dante's is the very best and only pizza approaching Neapolitan Pizza. Finally I can irder puzza with a tender crust and the correct cheeses and pepperoni ... or a flavorful marguerita Puzza or veggie . Thank goodness!

Group of three arrived for dine-in dinner. I had their calzone and it was spectacular.

Chef came to the table after dinner and inquired if everything was to our taste.

Our waitress was absolutely magnificent, experienced and interested in us. I tipped her double! That good!

I am new here, headed elsewhere in all likelihood and have traveled for decades in both hemispheres. I have tried all the pizzerias in the area. In this Chester-Petersburg- Colonial Heights area, Dante's in the Boulevard is definitely my choice. When I order for dine-in or take out Italian, I want it to be...

We have been going here for years. Food and service has always been good until our last experience. The food was still good. The service was pretty bad. We had a sprite that was pure carbonated water after we had to wait and remind to bring that drink when the rest of us had ours. When we got our wings as appetizers, we had to ask for plates. When we were finished eating, we asked for a box for our half pizza that was left and we got a 12x12 Styrofoam container. There is also now a non cash charge for using a credit card evidently. I asked if there was a change in managers or ownership and was told that everyone was new. That explains a lot and we hope it comes around as we have had multiple parties and events hosted here and enjoy our Friday night...
