It used to be my favorite spot in the springs. Had a really bad expirence last time I was there. Basically i used to stop by Everytime i i was headed up hwy24 into the mountains or back down. Well i make my usual stop there get rolled tacos and a burrito. I am on my way to Denver when i see that the order is short. Turn around to go back for the rolled tacos. Takes maybe 20-30 minutes. Wait in the drive through which is always quite a wait. The "manager". Or whoever she was Yells at me to bring my order in with the receipt. So i go in wait at the counter as she ignores me while rolling silverware for at least 5 minutes. She calls me a liar and she specifically remembers me getting my rolled tacos. I know times are rough but im not going to drive all the way back the opposite direction to scam 4 dollars off this place. The fryer also was shut down 30 minutes prior, was broken or something. Problem was i was still hungry. She wouldn't refund me or make the situation right. I shouldn't have but i was hungry so i bought another burrito and told her I'd never return. The burrito was made quickly and brought up. She made me wait at least 7 minutes before bagging it up and putting napkins despite there being no other customers and me standing 5 feet from her watching her roll silverware. Monica's is only a mile or 2 away and they're friendly so I...
Read moreMy wife and I had a very busy Saturday and were craving some Mexican food. As a result, we kept our eyes peeled for a place that we would like to stop for dinner. We came across Alfonso’s and she remembered that some of her old coworkers loved this place. The decision was made and we decided to eat it there.
We ordered 3 items - Chicken Burrito Combination Plate, Carne Asada Plate & Nachos - that came to be right under $30. Now if you can see from the photos that value is insane.
Right from the get go - all 3 items are LOADED with tons of meat. All of the items were very generous on the protein and that’s what I love to see. My burrito was massive and full of flavor.
My wife thoroughly enjoyed her carne Asada plate and thought the carne Asada on both the plate and nachos were fantastic.
The nachos were a great addition as the chips they use can hold a substantial amount of toppings and never were soggy or broken. They picked the right chips for nachos! Plus everything tasted fresh and had tons of flavor.
I will mention that this place is very established place. The entire time we were there, the drive thru was always packed. This place is a hit and I’m glad I have another go-to place for Mexican food.
I would highly recommend for everyone to give Alfonso’s a try. You won’t be...
Read moreThis is one of my favorite Mexican food places in the springs, well it might be a little off the beaten path it's well worth the extra few feet. I've been there when they've been busy and when it's been slow and either times the food is always fresh not overcooked doesn't taste like it's been sitting there forever. The fried jalapenos you can order have never let me down, the asada burritos are well sized for the price. Don't get me wrong it's not the cheapest place you can go to in town to get a taco or burrito or whatever you might be hankering for but for the price you can't beat it. The Horcheta is awesome just like when I grew up drinking on the border of Mexico and Texas. Now the parking at rush hour is every man for himself and don't be surprised to see the line for the drive-thru out into the street but come on it just tells you how good it is if somebody's willing to wait on the street to get their lunch I'd say that speaks for itself. Now they're not as fast as McDonald's but sometimes you got to wait a few minutes to get good fresh food. Of course I wish I would have waited to give this review while I was there eating my lunch because now I'm hungry and...
