This museum is little but is totally worth the $7.50 and it totally gives you an insight of what the Wild West use to be. We were pleasantly surprised by how fun and entertaining it actually was. Very nice re-creation of an old time "ghost town". Individual buildings and displays setup to look like a complete town. You could go inside many of the store fronts to see more items appropriate to the building, i.e. saloon, blacksmith, general store, jail, red-light district, etc. Also a few displays of vehicles such as stage coaches and wagons. We were very much surprised at how many authentic items this museum has. The collection is fantastic and creatively displayed. The coin operated piano, organ and nickelodeon worked too. Worth a quarter each to hear them play. The super short film on Colorado's settlers' history is definitely worth the couple minutes (and is included free). We visited during the "off season", so had the place pretty much to ourselves. On a side note: If we owned this operation each of the rooms would have an audio story you could listen to while looking at the...

Visiting the Ghost Town Museum in Colorado Springs was such a fun and memorable experience! Walking into the museum felt like stepping back in time. It was really cool seeing all the old items and hearing my mom say, “I had one of those,” or “Grandma used to use that!” It felt like getting a peek into her childhood, which made it even more special.
One of my favorite parts was the little fire department setup. As the child of a firefighter who basically grew up around fire stations—helping wash firetrucks and all—it was especially awesome to see. It made me smile to see a mini version of something that’s such a big part of my life.
We also had a great time at the gold panning area. We mostly found pyrite (fool’s gold), but the experience was still really fun and perfect for families. The gift shop was also cute and had some unique souvenirs.
If you’re in Colorado Springs and looking for something to do—especially with kids or if you love history—definitely check this place out. It’s like time-traveling without...
Read moreThis place is a riot! Bring quarters because there are tons of fun machines that take them, and you won't want to miss a single one! Beware, though! In the saloon are a couple of machines you probably don't want your children looking at. That's ok, because there are plenty others they CAN look at. It's a cheap entrance fee and cheaper entertainment. It's fun telling kids that have grown up with so much tech about all the various contraptions and how they used, and pointing out seriously dangerous stuff people used to have around their kids (like the cast iron woodburning heater in the kids' room by their toys!). There are a bunch of cars and carriages. You can even get into one of them! At the end of it is a short film about the history of the US. The gift shop has every kind of souvenir you could want and a whole bunch you never thought of! We even got car bingo cards for the trip home. A note about accessibility: I didn't have to get off of my scooter the entire time we were here. The museum and the gift shop were both...
