I was so excited to use the spa package my parents gave me for my 50th birthday, especially after having given birth to my now 11-month old twins just a month later. It was supposed to be a relaxing, rejuvenating couple of hours to myself, with the hopes of feeling pampered and pretty after. It was anything but. The two stars above are for Angela, the sweet and well-informed esthetician who did my facial and pedicure. Otherwise, this spa was a let down. Admittedly, I was late arriving. That sometimes happens when you're rushing out the door after feeding and changing your 6-month old twins for umpteenth time that night/morning. But, Mandy, the curt, obtuse front desk attendant had no compassion for the fact that I'd mistaken the spa for a different one in town and gone there first. She also balked when I asked if I could put my things in a locker before starting my body wrap treatment. "It will cut into your treatment," was all she could offer. So, even tho I opted to carry my belongings with me to use hte most of my time, the first treatment, despite the technician trying to do her best, was rushed and not relaxing at all. ($150 for an hour of getting slathered and then wiped down just isn't worth it). Next were the facial and pedicure, which were, thankfully, relaxing and done well by Angela. Then, I was all excited to end my spa day with a soak in the hot tub, only to find it was not in service. I sat on the deck, looking at the lovely view of Cheyenne Mountain, thinking about how badly I felt that my family had spent so much money on such a MEH business. For the prices this resort charges, it should have been a much nicer experience. If you want a spa that makes you feel welcomed, pampered and relaxed, I would chose...
Read moreI’ve called 3 times now and they are obviously not bothering to return my messages that I left with the front desk girl, so I’ll just leave this here. I booked pedicures at the spa to treat my mom for watching my kids for 4 weeks after my surgery. I called the spa that morning to ask how early we could come to use the amenities and they said whenever so we got there a bit early and changed into out swimsuits and robes and went over to the hot tub, only to find out it’s out of order. When we got our pedicures, we asked them about it and the girl goes “people keep asking about the hot tub!” And I’m thinking “yeah because no one just pays $110 for a basic pedicure. People come here to relax.” The pedicures were fine- I have very dry feet and they were no better afterwards and there was nothing extra- no hot wax, stone massage or mask that I get anywhere else for $45-70. After the pedicure, we’re getting changed, as we can hear the music from the connected gym and a bunch of kids come running in, screaming and laughing and throwing stuff around. I’m assuming this may be connected to a gym but why are kids able to just come run free, while we were trying to have a relaxing spa experience?! $220 later, I was extremely disappointed that we were not told beforehand about the amenities being closed down and I wouldn’t have wasted my time...
Read moreWe just visited the spa for a couples massage so this is a mid-covid experience. As a result, our expectations weren't too high with regard to our ability to use the locker rooms, relaxation area, and other amenities that others have posted about. However, we did have fairly high expectations with regard to the massages themselves. The price was much higher than we pay at a local spa where we get our monthly couples massage, but we had paid similar amounts while vacationing other places and had always found the money to be well spent. Unfortunately that was not the case this time. We were scheduled for an 80 minute massage but in the end it felt more like a 30 minute massage. The massage itself felt very half-hearted with a lot of down time as the masseuse transitioned from one area to another. My wife had specifically mentioned carrying a lot of tension in her shoulders and her shoulders were barely touched. I was also surprised at the lack of attention that both my hands and feet received. Overall it was a major...
